Did Paul write Hebrews?

Posted Apr 13th 2010, 10:46 by Christian Thinkers on Christian Living

From what I have heard and (mostly) read, the majority believes that Paul DID write Hebrews, but I don't think so, because of what I perceive to be differences in writing style and some vocabulary use different from that in all the letters which tell us Paul did write them.
What do you think?

InJesus user richard@intothyword.com sent a message to Ellis Elkins
Here's what they said:

RE: Did Paul write Hebrews?
The Big mystery is, who penned this?
Although this Epistle has Paul's "fingerprints" all over it in the
words and themes used, it is not in his style; perhaps it was written
form a lost letter he wrote after he had passed away. But, this work
has no personal ascription to Paul or the autobiographical/personal
references as his other letters clearly do. Nor do most of word usage
and...

Thoughts and quesions and maybe an answer.

Dear Brother Joe:

I do not pretend to know that much, but I have learned a few things regarding the questions you ask.       You asked "how much change did the gentiles make on what the Jewish people did"?

The Gentiles, other than their early contributions to the persecutions of Jews and Israelites, did the most damage to the Nation of Israel and their scriptural worship of their Messiah when Constantine of Rome decided to make "Christianity" a government religion. Anti-Semitism was in...

Joe's Question on Hebrew/Christian Development

Posted Apr 12th 2010, 12:14 by Christian Thinkers on Christian Living

First let me say Don Martin's reported personal experience and comments on this Hebrew-subject I find very interesting, clear, and well presented.Ellis response to JoeJoe: "While I keep Sunday, I don't see Sat. as being done away with and
Sunday being the new Sabbath in the scriptures.    have wondered about
this over the years."Frankly, I've always felt that we should still be resting/worshiping on Saturday like the Commandment says.Joe: "Do the gentiles have more freedom in this than
does a Jewish believer? ...

Joe Answers Own Question!

--Ellis: I think your Answer is THE Answer:John 8 (NIV) 25.  "Who are you?" they asked.   "Just what I have been claiming all along," Jesus replied.  26.  "I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is reliable, and what I have heard from him I tell the world."  27.  They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.  28.  So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man,...

Yahshua expects us to keep His commandments and respect, reverence and worship Him not only as Savior, but also LORD.  The Word makes it very clear that Lawlessness [iniquity] would be rampant in the Last Days. The church system is in its worst state of "Lawlessness" ever and getting worse.  I think the Lord is drawing the line and now it...

Dear Brother Joe:

First, what I would like to share in response to your posting can't be done all at once with only one response. And I need to preface my remarks with a little background first. I can really appreciate where you are coming from. I can personally relate to the issues you bring up. Shortly after I was saved, about 30 years ago, I received a prophetic word telling me that is was from the Tribe of Gad. I had no...

My ideas on this Good Question:With the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus' death, animal sacrifices ended and the Sabbath day of rest worship services moved from being practiced on Saturday to being practiced on Sunday. The authority of the Law was replaced by God's Grace and is summarized by (1) love God and (2) love each other, the two laws upon which Jesus said all the others rest.--EllisRomans 10 1.  Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites...

The early church was composed of almost all Jewish people.   How do you think their lifestyles changed from before Jesus started teaching and after?   Did they give up drinking, dancing, musical instruments in worship, etc?

How much change did the gentiles make on what the Jewish people did?

I think the early church, being Jewish basically, continued to live as they had and worshiped as they had and as the Gospel was given to the gentiles the big question was did a gentile...
