Bottle bomb are real and dangerious

Posted May 22nd 2010, 12:41 by words from the path on Christian Living

I hope that you will open an watch the video in this message.  I often read warnings and kind of shrug them off but watching this video chaged my mind.  It is real it is dangerious and the bomb is all too easy to make if someone in New England can/ will make one so somebody where you live may also.

Kudos to ministers in small churches

Posted May 22nd 2010, 12:40 by words from the path on Christian Living

Kudos to those who minister in small churches
Today I was thinking about small churches
And  a poem I have taped below my monitor
Came to my mind.  Preachers like most of us have peer pressure
Pressure to go to a larger...

While We May

Posted May 14th 2010, 11:05 by words from the path on Christian Living

While you may
I was reminded this morning of the truth of this statement
Yesterday when I came in there was a beautiful Iris blooming
Perhaps the most beautiful Iris I had ever seen
It was one I don’t ever remember seeing

How will they know that we are family?

Posted May 12th 2010, 05:21 by words from the path on Christian Living

How do they know we are family?
I remember long ago as a child
Our family was very large with uncles, aunts and cousins
We even had a few who had claimed us as family who were not by blood
But they were...

Lift up your head

Posted Apr 13th 2010, 09:17 by words from the path on Christian Living

"You ought to be ashamed of yourself!"
It's what "they" told you.
For some of you, they told you that years ago and it has remained as a burning indictment seared across your soul and spirit.
You feel ashamed.
Ashamed for something that happened in the past that God has forgiven and forgotten. It is time that you realize that you are no longer that person. It's time to realize that you should no longer be ashamed.
It's time to let it go and raise...

What is the difference ?

Posted Apr 12th 2010, 10:21 by words from the path on Christian Living

What difference does it matter?

I have an old Bible an NASB
I bought it over thirty years ago
I had spoken in a church
They gave me a small check
I did not trust them enough to give it back
So I bought a Bible
Noland Hughey put a leather cover on

Of late that Bible has been overshadowed
By newer ones
All good and all used from time to time
For the last several years
I have read much in The Message
My old Bible was marked up so much
I...

Bill Wade

Posted Apr 9th 2010, 07:24 by words from the path on Christian Living

Bill Wade
Yesterday I wrote about visiting Bill Wade
Bill was an outstanding quarterback  at Vanderbilt
Then drafted by the Los Angeles Rams
After some time he was acquired by the Chicago Bears
He led them to the NFL championship in 1963
I remember years later meeting him in Nashville
His hand was so big it seemed like it swallowed my own
For many years Bill has been a high profile Christ follower
He was very active in the FCA in Nashville and nationally
As we often do...

Good Men

Posted Apr 8th 2010, 11:22 by words from the path on Christian Living

Good Men
Today I had a full day in Nashville
First I saw my Psychiatrist who thinks I am better
I agree with him in this
Then lunch at Nero’s with my dear friend Lew Conner
Lew and I remind each other what really matters
After that a meeting with a couple who are servants of the Lord
And a few minutes with Steve Brumfield, always uplifting
Finally I as I had planned I began the drive west
I was going to The Meadows, an assisted...

Helping Helps

Posted Apr 7th 2010, 11:07 by words from the path on Christian Living

Helping Helps
This week I learned again a truth
Someone called and wanted to come by to talk
I was feeling very depressed
Finally I agreed
We spent an hour or so talking
Both of us had given up a load of worry
Each of us
Had been helped by helping.

He is Risen

Posted Apr 4th 2010, 01:09 by words from the path on Christian Living

He is Risen !!!
And comes from the people of God the refrain

He is Risen indeed !!!

I saw the morning a verse that convicted me
From Romans 5 The Message translantion

Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say in plodding prose, We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus the Messiah

Is it time you began singing and shouting your praises to God ?

Good People

Posted Mar 30th 2010, 12:08 by words from the path on Christian Living

Good People
Last night I put on face book a note
That today I would have an eye appointment
Determining if I could have my cataracts removed
I mentioned that I was a bit nervous about it
This morning when I checked the email
I had a fb message from Teddy Bart
Teddy Bart has been in TV and radio in Nashville for years
To my knowledge I have never met him
He sent me a note to assure me the surgery did not hurt
And that...

It's a start

Posted Mar 27th 2010, 03:48 by words from the path on Christian Living

It’s a start
This winter has been my worse for my depression
I have not wanted to do almost anything
I feared that I was giving up on life
On a rational level I know I did not get out of shape in one day
So I should conclude that returning would take time also
Dear friends have kept me from becoming a hermit
Wednesday was simply a beautiful day
I felt worse as I did not really want to do anything
Thursday was cold and wet
I did not...
