The Nectar of His Love, Part 2

The Nectar of His Love, Part 2
The return of Christ is not simply a war story, it is a love story. We read of Christ's love, we accept the doctrinal veracity of His promise, yet how differently we would be both in faith and action if we truly lived in the fullness of His love!
In his letter to the Ephesians, chapter 3, Paul prayed that church would "be strengthened with power through [God's] Spirit in [our] inner man." This...

The Nectar of His Love, Part 1

The Nectar of His Love, Part 1
A Prophetic Love Story
If God's love is truly for us, carrying us into the depths of His heart, then how shall we respond? I am thinking of Mary Magdalene's love for Jesus. Yes, here in the love Jesus has for Mary and in her response, we see flashes of Christ's love for the church. Mary is at Jesus' empty tomb. The apostles came, looked into the sepulcher, and went away bewildered. But Mary...

"Tell Francis I Miss Him"

"Tell Francis I Miss Him"
If Satan cannot distract you with worldliness, He will overwhelm you with weariness. Indeed, how easy it is to wear ourselves out; even good works done without recharging ourselves in God can drain us of life and energy. Daniel speaks of a time at the end of the age when the enemy will attempt to "wear down the saints of the Highest One" (Dan. 7:25). God never intended for us to do His will without His...

The Stronghold of the Godly: Humility

The Stronghold of the Godly: Humility
Satan fears virtue. He is terrified of humility; he hates it. He sees a humble person and it sends chills down his back. His hair stands up when Christians kneel down, for humility is the surrender of the soul to God. The devil trembles before the meek because in the very areas where he once had access there stands the Lord, and Satan is terrified of Jesus Christ.
Who Truly Are You Fighting?
It is important to...

Dear Friends,
There are qualities of heart that actually attract the pleasure of God. If we possess unoffendable faith in our pursuit of Christ's likeness; if we walk humbly with our God; if we position ourselves in the intercessor's gap; and if we abide in Christ-centered unity with the local body of Christ -- we will attract the pleasure of God, and when we awaken His pleasure, His power soon follows. Sign up today for our next In Christ's Image Training...

Dear Friends,
First and foremost, please continue to pray for those affected by the August 10 derecho. The devastation is like nothing we have ever seen in Iowa. Over the last few days, power has been restored to almost all of the remaining 10,000 homes and businesses. Very few homes have been left untouched by this storm.
It is being reported by the USDA that approximately 8.2 million acres of corn and 5.6 million acres of soybeans that may...

Two Things, Two Things Only

Please continue praying for the Cedar Rapids metro area, where 17,000 homes are still without power, 12 days after the derecho (land hurricane) went through portions of Iowa with winds up to 140 mph causing extensive damage.

Two Things,
Two Things Only
There are so many things to occupy our minds: so many books, so many examples, so many good teachings that deserve our attention, that say, "Here is a truth." But as I have been serving the Lord these past years, He...

Dear Friends,
As you may have heard in the news, areas between South Dakota and Ohio experienced a land hurricane (Derecho) on August 10. Cedar Rapids, the city where our offices are located, was hit particular hard. Thankfully our offices are still intact and has power and Internet. The congregation that I used to pastor (River of Life) lost the building they worship in, but the older half of the building is still intact. They are in the...

Iowa Land Hurricane
On Monday, August 10, we had a major disaster here in Cedar Rapids Iowa (basically a land hurricane called a derecho), where our offices are located. Power is still out in 80% of Linn County Iowa. We just got power back at the office yesterday and staff is busy dealing with damaged homes, trees down, etc.
Please pray for everyone affected. This event was like a 45 minute tornado. Power poles are down all over. It is very overwhelming....

The Gift of Woundedness

The Gift of Woundedness
From the ICIT Christlikeness track
The world and all it contains was created for one purpose: to showcase the grandeur of God's Son. In Jesus, the nature of God is magnificently and perfectly revealed; He is the "express image" of God (Heb. 1:3 KJV). Yet to gaze upon Christ is also to see God's pattern for man. As we seek to be like Him, we discover that our need was created for His sufficiency. We also see that,...

When the Crop Permits
From the ICIT Christlikeness track
Certainly, the period prior to Christ's return will be both difficult and perilous. Scripture warns that God's voice will shake all things, things in the heavens and things on the earth. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken, and then removed (Heb. 12:26-27).
Yet there is more on the calendar of God than increasing judgments and the Rapture. Between now and the Second Coming, there will also be a significant, though still...

Dear Friend,
I first started pastoring in 1971. In 1973 I also produced three music albums. Over the years the music ministry slipped further and further into the back of my mind. However, throughout the last few years, people have contacted me asking again if we would make these songs available. Bear in mind that the original production levels were not great. Still, at the request of those who heard them, we are offering this promotion. Our hope is that during...

If We Do Not Lose Heart

If We Do Not Lose Heart
The prophet Daniel warns of a time when Satan will "wear down the saints of the Highest One" (Dan. 7:25). How this occurs in the final hours of the age remains to be seen, but this battle is already occurring today. The final effect of what seems like never-ending delays is that believers are worn out.
Do you know anyone who is weary with his or her battle? Are you yourself weary? I know many who...

Dear Friends,
Last spring, Gia, the 13 year old granddaughter of Pastor Francis, suffered a concussion that required an MRI. It was during the MRI that her doctors discovered she also had a small tumor, called a vestibular schwannoma. The attending doctors would like to remove the tumor as soon as possible. Please stand with pastor and Mrs Frangipane in faith for Gia's healing. Thank you!
