Hi to our Family & Friends! I know we sound like a broken record here, but please forgive us for the lack of communication to you all personally and corporately! We have just finished our busiest time of year that began in late May. We welcomed over 300 international visitors (each coming for a 2-3 week visit) during this 3-month period. Good News
Greetings from Africa. It's been so long since we last wrote, we feel we have catch you up on life again here in Africa. Here among the poorest of the poor, the world economic crisis is not on the minds of the kids God has called us to serve. You see, in the west, we strive to succeed. Here in the 2/3rds world, they strive to survive. And they do it well, for they...

Greetings to Everyone From Around the World!
We have to apologize so often for not writing enough, so would it be possible to have a standing "Please Forgive Us...." that we could use as a voucher for the rest of 2009??? :). This will be our February/March Newsletter :).
How are things over there....wherever "there" may be? Things are well over "here". We hear things have been tough all over the world. Our prayers go out...

January Update

Posted Jan 13th 2009, 09:25 by Liquid Myrrh on Christian Living

Scene at the front gate of the Village of Joy Children's Center, Iris Ministries, Pemba base, Christmas Day, 2008.
The look on the child's face told a story.  Would it be like before where the food would run out like it did at home before he was able to eat?  If he didn't get to the head of the line, was it going to happen again?  Would he miss out on one of only two days in the whole year...

Thanksgiving Family and Friends
Having just completed our first furlough, we are now better able to understand Jesus' parable about the woman losing the coin...searching high and low....and then experiencing unimaginable joy when she finds it. Jennifer and I have been away (losing contact) from friends and family for a year. Having returned and being able to reconnect with all of you has brought us this same unimaginable joy!  If you ever want to know how much someone means to...

November Update

Posted Nov 6th 2008, 09:14 by Liquid Myrrh on Christian Living

Dear Friends and Family,  As Jen and I will be "Out of Africa" in America for a while, we'd like to keep you up to date on what is happening in the ministry we serve in Africa, Iris Ministries.
The two letters below are from our leaders, Rolland and Heidi Baker.  The following updates are rather lengthy, and I know the temptation is to do as I do:   Disregard it now and come back and read it when I...

Hello! We hope this month finds each of you well!!
Asia Trip Update
Before we start, please realize that Jen and I must avoid using names, dates, and places for security reasons, so please bear with us as we try to describe a most amazing journey into the heart of God's Asia kingdom without the typical "religious phrases". On the surface, it doesn't make sense to have to continue to go to such lengths to protect anonymity as we are thousands...

July Newsletter

Hello! We hope to find you all happy, healthy and well!
Forgive Us
We have had so many demands on our time since we got back from Portugal that we haven't been able to stay in touch with all of you as we should.  Please forgive us as we crawl through these early steps of being full time missionaries and learning when (and how) to say "no" to certain things.  It's so tough, when there are so many needs tugging at...

May Newsletter

Back to Africa
Earlier this month we arrived in Maputo (the capital of Mozambique) with dozens of encyclopedias, dictionaries, Bibles, Christian DVD's/CD's, movies, discipleship literature and fishing equipment from Portugal for our kids and friends at Iris.  Thanks to everyone of you who helped make this possible as we were able to sow literally thousands of dollars worth of "seed" into the lives of many African children.  When we reached Maputo, we hooked up with a visiting team from Atlanta, our...
