Update from Jerusalem 2 July

Posted Jul 2nd 2008, 05:06 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Greetings dear and cherished friends
As you probably know, today at noon a young "Palestinian" man took a bulldozer and drove down Jerusalem's main thoroughfare, plowing into several buses and running over pedestrians and cars.  It was just as much a terror attack as if he were carrying a gun!  Fortunately he was stopped before he got to the outdoor market where tremendous damage would have occurred.
The rampage began in front of the Central Bus Station, exactly where I usually stand...

"Free Love" or love that is free?

Posted Jun 27th 2008, 12:18 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Thousands marched the streets of Jerusalem last night under the banner of "Free Love"  (see link http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3560852,00.html)
But Aviram found a love that was free, the love of God through Christ Jesus!
Our little band met after the parade was over so that we could "catch" those fish who were on the sidelines.
The Spirit first led us down the main pedestrian mall where a religious man approached me to buy a word.  His Yeshiva (religious school) sells words so they...

June 16th update

Posted Jun 18th 2008, 04:36 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Beloved, grab a cup of coffee and settle in.  This is a long epistle!
I am convinced that there are two ways to push through discouragement: worship and ministry.
I'll address the "discouragement" below, but only after I praise God for His healing touch.
Tonight was our weekly Wednesday street Treasure Hunts.  The day started as I slipped out of bed and sank to my knees in an act of surrender and homage.  If I allow my mind to start focusing on the...

June 6 Treasure Hunts

Posted Jun 6th 2008, 05:10 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Thank you for your prayers for our first Friday Treasure Hunt.  As always, God in His grace showed up and showed off.
For those who aren't familiar with this style of outreach, I'll explain.
It's based on the parable of the pearl of great price.  Our world is God's field filled with precious treasures.  Our privilege is to find His treasures and give them the greatest of treasures - Jesus.
Every treasure hunt requires a map of clues.  So after a time...

Praise Report - May 29-30

Posted May 31st 2008, 07:45 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Dear friends
Thank you for your prayers and continued love.
The three outreaches were vastly different as were the outcomes.  The message however remains the same.  For those who think I'm bold...let me tell you that my heart is always in my throat when I start out.  God always enables me and brings in the harvest.
Thursday night was Mission Neighborhood and 8 doors were opened to me.  As before, the people went from suspicion to delight as I explained my "mission." ...

May 29-30th to Jews and Sudanese

Posted May 29th 2008, 11:23 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Dear cyber friends
May God continue to encourage and strengthen you in your work of faith, labor of love, and patience in hope in the Lord Jesus.
These past two days God has been holding me close and nudging me along the way.  I'm being challenged by a new situation (at least new for me) which I will share in another letter.
But first I'd like to alert you to what I'm doing in the next twenty four hours.
Tonight I resume "Mission...

Treasure Hunting May 23

Posted May 23rd 2008, 03:53 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

The location clues were:  Burger King, bank, harp.  We had no idea these three clues would form a triangle on Ben Yehuda, the pedestrian mall in downtown Jerusalem.
We were actually heading for Burger King when we noticed the bank just a few doors up the street.  When we positioned ourselves between them we saw a harp on the doorway of a store across the street.
We were set.  Our expectations rose, especially since the street was almost devoid of...

Bringing Yeshua to the Streets

Posted May 8th 2008, 05:02 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Thank  you all for your prayers last night.  Despite the opposition, thousands of Gospel tracts were distributed and I moved under a cloud of protection and peace.  Also I had some good and potential fruitful conversations.  But let me back up.
The ministry of Jews for Jesus is conducting its first "Behold Your God" campaign in Israel.  Tel Aviv is  the first of 12 areas to be "targeted".  Yesterday was the 4th day of the campaign.  The media hasn't picked up the...

Celebrating Israel's 60th

Posted May 5th 2008, 12:19 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Beloved friends,
From sundown Tuesday to sundown Wednesday is Israel's Memorial Day when remember our soldiers who have died in battle.  Then, following immediately at sundown on Wednesday we celebrate our 60th anniversary as an independent State.
Have you ever wondered why we call ourselves a state rather than a country?  The chosen nomenclature is a constant reminder that we are not in possession of God's promised inheritance!  When our borders extend to the boundaries God set out, THEN we will be a...

BOOMBAMELAH      2008
‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.’ (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:17-18)
God, knowing that the Jewish people need a “sign”, spoke those words to...

Boombamelah Festival

Posted Apr 23rd 2008, 06:53 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

For most, Passover means celebrating Freedom from bondage.  For  younger Israelis it means "Boombamelah Festival."
On the beach between Ashdod and Ashqelon, each year thousands (upwards of 15,000) young, passionate and ready to party Israelis congregate to celebrate their own kind of "freedom."
Each year the crowd gets younger - now the average age is 16!  It also gets less spiritually hunry. Over the years I've seen the crowd be less interested in the things of the "spirit" and far more interested...

Update on the Attack on Messianics

Posted Mar 25th 2008, 08:18 by Novea Ministries on Christian Living

Beloved, we are all reeling from the recent attack on a Messianic family in the settlement of Ariel.  Below is the most recent update.  As the Lord leads, please continue to pray for all concerned:
1) Ami and his family
2) The Ariel community as they confront the underlying issues of hatred agasint Messianics
3) The police
4) The entire Messianic community as we consider how to respond.  Is this the time to go on the offensive and stand up for our "rights"...

Cherished friends
While the rest of the Christian world celebrates today in remembrance of Christ's death on the Cross, here in the Land where it happened, we are celebrating Purim.  For those who are unfamiliar with this holiday, it is the celebration of God's protection of the Jews from the anhiliation planned by Haman.  The story is found in the book of Esther.
It is impossible for us to ignore the irony of yesterday's maiming of a 15 year old boy in...
