Is your computer bloated and unresponsive ??

Posted Oct 2nd 2009, 03:16 by EmceePro News and Updates on Christian Living

Many times a computer can become bloated and unresponsive due to unneeded ‘processes’ running behind the scenes.  Many times this is associated with trialware/freeware/shareware that a user may not even know they have.  This is often the case with newly purchased computers since manufacturers use their ‘platform’ (a brand spanking new computer) to sell as what amounts to advertising space for all sorts of other software.  The trade-off users make here is they’ll get a price break on the machine,...

Great info from another user

Posted Sep 24th 2009, 02:10 by EmceePro News and Updates on Christian Living

I enjoyed visiting with you at NQC this year.  As promised, I'm sending info about a few things I've had great success with while using Emcee Pro.

First:  Direct Box -- I am using the Whirlwind "pcDI" box. http://www.whirlwindusa.com/dirbox.html#pcdi  It is made for interfacing PC's and iPods to pro sound systems.  Since I bought mine, Whirlwind came out with a "podDI" http://www.whirlwindusa.com/dirbox.html#poddi.

The difference between the two:

The pcDI has stereo inputs (both RCA and 3.5mm stereo) and two XLR outputs.  It has...

Sound Issues..and info from Ted

Here are few of the things that users have run across from time to time regarding audio issues.

If your computer has any sort of anti-virus software loaded, it's probably always running in the background.
If that's the case, and the program decides it needs to do some sort of system sweep (they do these things on their own schedule), it might cause the problem you're describing.  To get around this, disable the software when you're going to be performing.  Help files...

Split Tracks - How do you use them with Emcee Pro

Posted Jul 2nd 2009, 11:07 by EmceePro News and Updates on Christian Living

You need to put a stereo cord in your laptop's headphone jack, join it with a left/right splitter - either RCA or 1/4" plugs. Feed each of these leads into a different channel on your mixer and that will let you send one track to your speakers and turn the split part off!

Sounds like it is skipping

Posted Mar 22nd 2009, 01:53 by EmceePro News and Updates on Christian Living

When users call and report that their laptop sounds like it’s skipping, what they’re describing is actually a symptom of an overworked processor on their machine.  Check these possible causes:

1)       Make sure you’re not allowing your laptop to overheat.  Set your machine up on a hard surface – not on a pad, a pew, a cushion, etc - .  Air circulation is critical.  Allowing your computer to overheat can potentially destroy critical components.  Many times, the first indication of this...

Colleagues, business associates, loyal customers and friends and users of Emcee Pro:
The holidays are a time to reflect and to look forward. Our growing family continues to be blessed with health, and I am lucky to work with an amazing group of people every day. At the same time, from an economic standpoint, I think I echo many of your sentiments in saying good riddance to 2008. The economy is in the midst of the biggest asset revaluation we could...
