City of Refuge Community
“3 Realms of Relationship”
(Presentation 2)
Everything in God’s kingdom rises and falls on “relationships” and contrary to popular opinion, God desires relationship with us not control over us. Unfortunately, we have misinterpreted His actions as those of an angry-frustrated-punitive-stingy-God who wants to punish us… not bless us. Nothing could be farther from the truth! The core issue here is that guilt, failure, condemnation and life experience have all conspired to make us afraid of real relationships with both...

City of Refuge Community
CRC Language & Definitions
(Presentation 1)
Since August of 2006, we have been on a quest to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to both the Corporate Church and our City of Refuge Community. Because we believe God is not only focused on building the local church but also His kingdom, there is an emerging language and kingdom culture that needs to be mutually understood so that we can all move ahead together. This presentation will help us...

Don't Stop

Posted May 16th 2007, 01:19 by City of Refuge Community on Church & Ministry

I recently experienced something that had me somewhat discouraged and a friend emailed me this poem.  I believe that many of you can relate. My encouragement to you -- "DON’T STOP".
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank...

reconciliation --- honor, forgiveness and the CRUCIFIXION!
I.      god is intent on reconciling man unto himself
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
(2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

The Vision

~~a poem written by Pete Greig from his book, Red Moon Rising
The Vision
So this guy comes up to me and says,
"What's the vision? What's the big idea?"
I open my mouth and words come out like this...
The vision?
The vision is Jesus:
obsessively, dangerously, undeniably Jesus.
The vision is an army of young people.
You see bones?
I see an army.
And they are free from materialism.
They laugh at 9-5 little prisons.
They could eat caviar on Monday
and crusts on Tuesday.
They wouldn't even notice.
They know the meaning of...

By David Chadwick
God is crying out for justice He is crying out for all the lives needlessly lost because of the pride & arrogance of those who call themselves His.  You are not my people those you have rejected are my people. You are so proud of the boxes you have built but they have boxed out my people.  You have killed my people in the name of church and religion. You have stolen away...

My Niece came to me today and said "Guess what Uncle David, my Mom just bought us “Open Season” and we got two copies."  I was pretty sure that I knew where this was going but I asked her anyway.  "How did this happen?"  She said, "They were stuck together."
I asked her if she was going to ask her mom if they could return one?  She quickly said yes but with a perplexed look...
