Update on Jaco's visit

Posted Aug 25th 2009, 05:46 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

As we stated in our earlier posting last week, Jaco will be here on the 20th of September. The reception - informational meeting will be from 1 until 4 in the room formerly know as the Green Room at Peoples Church.
Jaco is also available to talk to Sunday Schools and "other" churches on Sunday morning (20th). Please just let Gail or I know, as we try to keep his schedule intact and not too insane.
Blessings
Terry and Gail

Reception for Jaco van Schalkwyk

Posted Aug 21st 2009, 01:17 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

Hello to the Faithful!
We have been silent for a while, but we are still here in the USA. As you remember, we did make it to South Africa for the entire month of October 2008, and it was a blessing!
More on that later..
For now, we would like to offer you an invitation to meet one of our South Africa Missions friends, Jaco van Schalkwyk. Jaco is involved in the missions field, and the organization is called Refilwe.
Jaco will be in...

Where has the Time Gone!?

Posted Oct 18th 2008, 08:59 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

Saturday October 18th, 2008
To all our Family and Friends..
First, apologies. I have not updated in quite a while, but we have been scurrying around here like a South African bushbaby (look it up in the encyclopedia or google it) trying to get projects done. Our original project list (upon arrival and subsequent trips to the local farm schools) was enlarged four fold to include additional projects that we (and you) needed to be involved in. So lets dive right in.
We visited the...

The Journey, Chapter Two

Posted Oct 4th 2008, 07:15 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

Leg Three, Dulles to Johannesburg (Continued)

Have you ever flown internationally in economy class seats? In a large jumbo jet, with at least 7 seats across; and I would be kind to say that there is even barely ‘adequate’ leg room for the average sized traveler.
Here is a great trick we will share with you, that not too many people know; is that those seats that are the ‘exit row seats’? You know the ones that you have to have...

The journey, Chapter one

Posted Oct 4th 2008, 04:57 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

The Journey begins.
Chapter one, the traveling.

Pretty uneventful, as far as traveling goes. No major hiccups.
But the day before? Different story.
On the Monday before we were to leave for our long awaited South Africa mission trip, I looked at our travel itinerary, and had a panic attack. Do yourself a favor, and Never plan a trip that starts and ends on days that are close to each other in the month, like leaving on the 29th, and returning on the...

OCtober 2008 Trip Planned

Posted Sep 22nd 2008, 12:44 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

To all of our South Africa Missions Supporters
Family and Friends;

First, Gail and I would like to thank you for your on-going prayer support, emotional and financial support. Not a week goes by that one of you doesn’t ask about Gail’s health, and how the plans to go to South Africa are progressing. We know full well that without you all standing with us and praying for us, that our Mission to South Africa with Reaching A Generation Ministries would never...

Good Morning to our friends and supporters from around the world.
Gail and I are excited to tell you that we are going to South Africa in October of this year (2008)!
It has been a long time coming, but we are finally able to say we can go, so good bye!
Actually, I should re-word this, or expound a bit more. We are going in october, and we will be gone for the entire month. It will be a time of seeing...

Updates

Posted Nov 5th 2007, 10:53 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

Dear Friends and Family,
Another update...Yes we are still here. I wish I didn't have to keep saying that, but for some reason God has chosen to prolong our stay here.
I'd love to say I'm OK with that, but in reality  I'm not, I don't understand, and it makes me sad. I hope we can at least go next summer to South Afrcia for a short stay. Please pray with us to know God's long term will...

Mission Update February 2007

Posted Feb 16th 2007, 01:15 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

Dear Friends,
Yes! We are still here!
Yes! We still plan to go to South Africa. Yes! We appreciate your continued financial support and prayer.
We have had some set backs, but we will not allow satan to have the upper hand. I had shoulder surgery in August of last year, then Terry had a malignancy removed from the corner of his eye in October, resulting in fourteen stitches. I was involved in two car accidents within three...

A Tsunami EVERY WEEK in Africa

Posted Jun 27th 2006, 03:14 by Reaching a Generation South Africa on Evangelism/Missions

The Silent Tsunami
A tsunami EVERY week in Africa.
Americans donated $1 billion in the aftermath of the devastating Asian tsunami that killed more than 170,000 people. This is in addition to the $6 billion pledged by governments around the world, including $950 million from the US. We applaud these sincere efforts to meet this tragedy.
There is a vast tragedy that does not get front-page attention. Year after year, millions die of preventable causes. The U.N. reports that last year...

To meet such a man

TO MEET SUCH A MAN
I sat, with two friends, in the picture window of a quaint restaurant just off the corner of the town-square. The food and the company were both especially good that day.As we talked, my attention was drawn outside, across the street. There, walking into town, was a man...
