This month we want to introduce Richard and Sharon Cook to you. In July, they will celebrate 30 years of service with the FMB / IMB. They were in...

Change is all around us…Just when you think you have things figured out something changes whether it is to the new and improved version or the updated version, etc.. After hearing recently of several friends who are facing employment changes I thought wow their life is changing, their circumstances are changing. But I was reminded to be thankful that we as Christians serve the God who doesn’t change. Malachi 3:6 says “For I,...

February 2010

Valentine’s Day is a day that has been celebrated since the Middle Ages. And in some museums across the globe, greeting cards can be seen which date back to 1415. While the origin of Valentine’s Day may be debated, one thing is for certain. It’s a popular time for sending memorable messages of love. Why not take some time this month to send messages of love to those who have encouraged you in your...

Recharge cellphones, recharge Ipods, recharge computer batteries, recharge camera batteries, recharge portable phones, think about how many items a week you recharge.  I think if we all thought about that we would be amazed.  But just think for a minute how many times a day do we stop to recharge our spiritual battery?  As we enter this New Year people will be making all kinds of resolutions, I challenge you...

Christmas lights, Christmas tree, presents to give and receive, family and friend gatherings, Christmas cookies and cakes, candy canes, all reminders of the Christmas season. All are good things that people use to celebrate during this season. However, there are people who are searching for a hope during this season.
I would encourage you to remember that there is a thirst which people have that can only be quenched by the love of God....

Ephesians 3:17-19 says so that Christ may dwell in your (their) hearts through faith, and that you (they), being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you (they) may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
The words in parentheses in the above verses are representative...

THE NICODEMUS PROJECT, GUATEMALA CITY
October 2009
In both Matthew and Mark the story is told of Jesus calming the sea during the storm. The disciples and Jesus were out in a boat and a storm came up. Jesus was asleep during the storm and the disciples were afraid. When they woke Jesus He simply spoke and the sea was calmed. He asked them in Mark 4:26, “why are you afraid, you men of little faith”.
When I read...

“When he [the Holy Spirit] comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.” John 16:8
So many of the Nicodemus people “believe” in Jesus.  They know the story of his virgin birth, something of his life and his crucifixion and resurrection.  However, many are not convicted of sin and righteousness.  Their religious tradition has taught them that besides believing they must do certain sacraments which will impart...

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:3-4
That isn’t a typo above where “the Lord” is repeated. That is the way the NIV says it. When we start getting anxious because our prayers aren’t answered, or we don’t get the direction from the Lord we need when...

Urgent prayer request from Nicodemus Project

Posted May 13th 2009, 04:26 by Nicodemus Project on Prayer

It seems that Satan is looking for every means to attack and destroy.  Tuesday night the first meeting of the new Crown group study was at Manuel and Siomara’s house.  Just about twenty minutes into the meeting, Samuel, their 1 ½ year old son, fell against the corner of the coffee table cutting a big gash in his forehead.  They rushed him to the emergency room leaving Iñigo to finish leading the study.  Thankfully, there was no concussion and the...
