Endurance

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Endurance

2 Timothy 22:3  Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

One of the hardest things for me to do is stay in the fight.  What I mean by that is many times I throw in the towel, and just let things go and never finish.  Whether it’s a project, or a work task, or a personal goal, I just don’t seem to be able to go the distance and complete what I’ve started.

I’ve noticed there are...

Get Up

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Get UP!

Acts 3:6  Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

“I’m done, I can’t take it any more, this isn’t working for me.”  I heard my friend Mary say.  I was shocked Mary is one of the people who I look up to because her faith is always so strong.  Now the enemy has attacked her body, mind...

Our Story

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Our Story

2 Corinthians 3:2  Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

We have all gone through many things in our lives.  We’ve faced dangers, survived sicknesses, raised families and endured personal losses.  Our life is a story, each day a new page, each year a new chapter.  It really is important to share our experiences.

St. Paul writes that we are living epistles—an epistle is a letter or message sent to instruct.  Paul’s epistles...

RIVER REVELATIONS:

EMMAUS

We all have a cause, something we are passionate about.  We all have dreams and hopes for an exciting wonder filled life.  We all desire to prosper and live a healthy happy life.  But what happens when our plans fall apart, our dreams become nightmares, and our money and health are lost?  Where do you go when you are disappointed?  What do you do when your life is torn apart, your plans have failed, and your world seems to...

Give Me A Mission

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Give Me A Mission:

Matthew 25:40  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Many years ago when I first came to Christ I was anxious to do something special for God.  I didn’t care what it was, or where I would have to go, or what I’d have to do, I just wanted...

Hurting

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Hurting

Recently my back went out, way out, it has been weeks, not days, and I am still hurting.  I asked the Lord why?  Why, was this happening now, in the beginning of the pain I was focused on the outward, what had I done, did I lift something too heavy, did is turn too quickly?  I couldn’t come up with one natural reason why my back hurt so much.

Of course I prayed, I had others praying as well, but...

Out of the Depths

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Out of the Depths

The oceans and seas are full of fish and other critters.  They swim, float, and crawl in the depths of the waters.  Hidden away in caverns and underwater caves, they thrive and grow and fulfill their purpose.  Some seldom ever even come to the surface; they spend their time in the depths.

We are in the ocean of humanity; we live in the waters of adversity and seldom rise to the true fullness of life.  We swim...

RIVER REVELATIONS

The Brightness Of His Coming

By:  Nancy Shupp

The brightness of His coming   From the dark clouds of sin and despair and lawlessness emerges the Bright and Morning Star.  The one who spoke and light was.  The one whose brightness far exceeds the noon day sun.  The Glorious Son of God revealed in all His splendor to establish a kingdom that will not end.  To bring peace and display for all eternity the fruits of the plan of redemption, the fruits...

O, The Blood of Calvary

RIVER REVELALTIONS;

O, THE BLOOD OF CALVARY

Jesus is the great I am,
God’s own chosen spotless Lamb.
He came to shed His precious blood,
And give us His unfailing love.

On the cross at Calvary
Jesus died to make men free.
He purchased back my soul for me
With the blood of Calvary.

He took on Him our sin and shame,
He bore our sickness and our pain,
And through the blood He did proclaim
The power of His Holy Name.

O, the blood of Calvary
Jesus shed to set us free.
O, to know...

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Rolling Stones
“He still rolls the stone away, He still changes hearts that will pray.
If you are bound by sin's prison, you don't have to stay
Jesus still rolls the stone away.”—Billy Fields
After the crucifixion Jesus was laid in a tomb and a large stone was rolled over the mouth of the grave.  The women came to grave to prepare His body and wondered how they would move that large stone.  They didn’t’ have to worry; God had already commanded angels...

A Strange Blessing

RIVER REVELATIONS:

A strange Blessing

…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

I used to believe I could survive the what, if I knew the why.  I’ve had to rethink that recently.   Life does not always make sense.  No one understands how we feel even if we are going through similar experiences, each of us face challenges differently.  Many times we question the Lord and ask Him why especially when we are going through things we just can’t...

Spring

River Revelations

Spring

Spring is coming, itchy, watery eyes, sniffling noses, spring-- ah spring.

Spring is coming, crocuses, daffodils, and tulips are stretching forth out of their earthy womb reaching out for the light and warmth of the sun.

Beads of promise appear on every tree branch. Flowery buds announcing that soon they will be bursting forth with provision of sweet treats to eat.

Birds are nesting life is resting on every bough and branch, squirrels running scurrying to retrieve nuts stashed away last fall.

Spring...

Stolkholm Syndrome

RIVER REVELATIONS:
Stockholm Syndrome
BY: Nancy Shupp
Recently as a prophet was speaking over my husband and me, she mentioned Stockholm.  The words “Stockholm Syndrome” immediately leaped into my spirit. This is a condition where those that have been taken into captivity have their spirit so broken that they no longer oppose their captors, but instead actually come into alliance with them.
Many in the body of Christ have been affected by this syndrome.  The enemy has so worn them down through constant,...

God's Word

GOD’S WORD

Whatever I attempt to do, in moments bright or dim,
I know that all my courage and my strength depend on Him.

I know my God is watching me, and helping me each day,
And He is always interested in every prayer I pray.

He gives me grace and fortitude, but He expects of me,
My share of faithful gratitude and loving sympathy.

He wants me to obey His word as ably as I can,
And be of willing service to all my fellow man.

I know...

Merry-Go-Round

RIVER REVELATIONS:

Merry-go-Round

Every year our church held its annual Sunday school picnic at an amusement park.  It was old and run down, few people went there anymore, but for what we needed it was fine.  You could rent the park for the day, and ride all the rides and play all the games for free.  It was a nice family time.

My husband and I always liked to ride the merry-go-round at least once on these occasions.  I loved the old-fashioned décor...
