36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We will show Scripturally the Revelation of our Lord's name and title as revealed by God's Spirit. This title of "Lord" and name of "Jesus Christ" is the authoritative representation and revelatory embodiment of God's Person and Purpose. The name of our Lord Jesus Christ says it all.
"Lord"...what does this mean and entail?
We see that Jesus has been "made both Lord and Christ". By this Word-birthed visible manifestation (Son) of God being resurrected after paying the price of sin's punishment, He was made the Head (Lord) of the coming many-membered body of God's indwelling Life.
In this position of Headship He is rightfully called Lord, from Whom, as the Captain and Source of our salvation, "the whole body fitly framed together grows unto a holy temple in the Lord. In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit" Ephesians 2:21,22
This is the Reality and Revelation of the Title given Jesus Christ as LORD upon His resurrection and seating at the right hand of Majesty on High.
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
From this position of authority, resurrection Life and power Jesus then commanded His disciples to make disciples of all nationalities "baptizing them in the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit". We know that singular name to be that of the Lord Jesus Christ.
From this position of authority and power, this position of Lordship, Jesus also ministers Resurrection Life into the raising up and quickening of every seed of God meant to be birthed into His many-membered body. When this redeeming work is complete and His body brought to perfection Jesus will then surrender the Kingdom back to His God and Father "that God may be all in all".
1 Cor 15:28
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
This takes care of an understanding of Jesus' title of Lord in it's basic purpose and intent. It is from His Lordship that we receive the Revelation of the ONE true God and the quickening of God's Spirit into new Testament sonship via the new birth.
"Jesus"...what does this Name mean and entail?
The name "Jesus" actually means Jehovah is Salvation. The birthing of Jesus was the manifesting of God's Word into a visible embodiment of His life and character.
1 John 1:1-2
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
So, quite plainly, Jesus was God's Life manifested in a Word-birthed body. The Word of God made flesh, so that through this perfect and sinless Tabernacle "made without hands", the pure blood of God could be shed for the taking away of our sins and the redeeming of our bodies back from serpent seed defilement.
This is what the name of JESUS means to us. Jehovah's very eternal Zoe Life manifested in a Word-born body wherein God's character was perfectly expressed, and then His pure blood shed for the purchasing of the world with every seed therein...good and bad. Now having blood-bought ownership of the earth and heavens which Adam forfeited over to satan in the beginning.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
"Christ"...what does this Title mean and entail?
Notice that we've called this a "Title" and not a name. Christ is indeed a Title.
It's meaning and significance is that of God's Anointing Spirit being IN and UPON an individual. Jesus...this Word-birthed Tabernacle, was for the housing of God's Spirit. With this tabernacling of God's Spirit there was an empowerment to do the works of God.
Jesus said, "the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, for He hath anointed Me...to preach, to set free, to bind up, to heal....etc"
So now, this is what "Christ" also means for us who are the continuation of the many-membered embodiment of God.
As Word-birthed sons and daughters of God...His very offspring, we are to also be housed and empowered by the indwelling of God's Spirit. It is the indwelling of the Anointing of God. The indwelling Unction and Witness of the Spirit of God. The indwelling of the Father...even as He dwelled in Jesus of Nazareth!
This is the Revelation of the phrase "the Lord Jesus Christ". It is the Revelation and Manifestation of the everlasting Father-God...of Whom, and through Whom, and to Whom are all things, having been manifested in a visible, birthed procreation of Himself in a many-membered body, beginning with Jesus of Nazareth as the spotless Lamb of God.
Then, after raising up this "beginning of the creation of God" (Jesus), the "first begotten from the dead"....God then released the Life that was in the blood of the spotless Lamb to come back into His many-membered body now able to be birthed by His resurrection Life.
Jesus having become a Life-quickening Spirit, as a resurrected Man, is now "giving eternal Life to as many as the Father has given Him".
And this is Eternal Life..."that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent". John 17:2,3
He is "giving us to know" who the true God is. THIS is the receiving of Eternal Life.
What was it that God sent?...
His Word of Life manifested in a Word birthed Tabernacle (Jesus) for the indwelling of Himself. God Himself coming into the human race tabernacled in His Word to redeem His seed back to Himself as a many-membered body of His offspring.
The Lord Jesus Christ...the reality and manifestation of God in a many-membered body ruled by the first begotten Son of God, by the indwelling of the Life and Spirit of His Word.
Amen. Anything short of this Revelation is of an antichrist spirit!
