Overcoming discouragement
Discouragement is lack of courage.

God gives Joshua the promise in Josh. 1:5. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Wow what a promise. Remember with every promise there is a foe that is standing there to intimidate you and take all your courage.

In verses 6,7,9 God tells Joshua to be of good courage. In verse 9 God commands Joshua to be courageous. This is very strong command not a friendly jester. We must have courage to walk in the promises of God.

Verse 8 is the key to having courage in every circumstance. The word of God meditating on it day and night. Keep it before your eyes and speak it out of your mouth. This is our weapon against unseen force of hell.

See these verses from the New Testament:

Just like God commanded Joshua to have courage we are commanded to walk by faith. The Just shall live by faith. The way we overcome discouragement is to put the word of God before our eyes, put in our mouth, and speak it out.

God knew Joshua would need courage to take the promise land because the land was full of his enemy's. Just like Joshua we have been given great and precious promises for our life. We must have courage and faith to possess the promises because our land is full of enemy's.

Take courage walk in faith Jesus said I will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrew 13:5 Stand your ground you are not alone. All Discouragement must bow its knee to the eternal word of God!!!!
