Although there are always abuses in revivals, there is also always opposition to what God wants to do. This is historically accurate.  In the second great awakening in America, Satan wrought Mormonism and Jehovah's witnesses.  Anything to detract from the TRUTH.  WE MUST LOVE THE TRUTH.  Yet to many, anything unusual is not from God because Holy Spirit is a "gentleman".  NO HE IS NOT.  What would make Saul strip naked before the prophets in 1 Sam 19 ?  Did David just think to take off everything but his loincloth to dance, or was he "moving as the Spirit led him ?"  Jesus took his robe and tunic off at the last supper in a prophetic gesture, left with only loincloth and towel to dry the feet of the apostles.  There were women no doubt there serving.

There is ample evidence in scripture and in past revivals of the extraordinary manifestations of the Holy Spirit.  And it was NOT the speaking in tongues alone, that made people think the apostles were drunk at Pentacost. I don't want anyone to follow false leaders with deception and greed in their agenda.  But I also do not want anyone to miss the day of their visitation calling what is of Holy Spirit  "kundalini", or of the devil.  BE CAREFUL that you do not CONDEMN what is of the Holy Spirit in your zeal for truth and in a "spirit of suspicion" or religion. Religion has ALWAYS OPPOSED REVIVAL.  It did in Jesus' time and it does to this day.   pris

Children Aflame  [Exerpts]

29th May 1737. Indeed about this time we observed the Spirit of God to move upon the minds of many of the children. They began more carefully to attend to the things that were spoken both at home and at church, and a remarkable seriousness appeared in their whole behavior and conversation.

20th May 1739. In the evening I was interrupted at Nicholas Street, almost as soon as I began to speak, by the cries of one who as “pricked in the heart”, and strongly groaned for pardon and peace. Another person dropped down and then a little boy near him was seized in the same manner.

17th July 1743. “On Saturday, S---T---, then about ten years old, walked in perfect health. She had never had any fits of any kind, nor any considerable sickness. About six in the morning she was rising , and inwardly praying to God, when suddenly she was seized with a violent trembling. Quickly after she lost her speech: in a few minutes her hearing: then her sight, and at the same time all sense and motion. Her mother immediately sent to the school for Mrs. Designe. At the same time her father, sent for Mr. Smith, apothecary, who lived near. At first , he proposed bleeding her immediately, and applying a large blister. But upon examining her further he said, “It signifies nothing, the child is dead.” About twelve o’clock she began to stir; then she opened her eyes and gave the following account:

“As soon as I lost my senses, I was in a dismal place, full of briers, and pits, and ditches, stumbling up and down, and not knowing where to turn, or which way to go either forward or backward; and it was almost quite dark, there being but a faint twilight, so that I could scarce see before me. I was crying ready to break my heart; and a man came to me and said, ‘Child, where are you going?’ I said, I could not tell. He said, ‘What do you want?’ I answered, ‘I want Christ to be my refuge.’ He said, ‘What is your name?’ And I told him. But I did not tell him S---T---. I told him a name which I never heard before. He said, ‘You are the child for whom I am sent. You are to go with me.’ I saw it grew lighter as he spoke. We walked together till we came to a stile. He went over, and bid me stay a little. I staid about half a quarter of an hour. And then I observed his clothes. They reached down to his feet, and were shining and white as snow.

Then he came back, and kneeled down and prayed. You never heard such a prayer in your life. Afterward he said, ‘Come with me.’ I went over the stile, and it was quite light. He brought me through a narrow lane, into a vast broad road and told me, ‘This leads to hell; but be not afraid, you are not to stay there.’ At the end of that road a man stood clothed like the other, in white shining clothes, which reached down to the ground. None could pass in or out without his knowledge. But he had not the key, and locked the door, and we went in together.

For a little way we walked straight forward; then turning to the left hand, we went down a very high, steep hill. I could scarce bear the stench and smoke of bringstone.   I saw a vast many people, that seemed to be chained down, crying and gnashing their teeth. The man told me, the sins they delighted in once, they are tormented with now. I saw a vast number who stood up cursing and blaspheming GOD, and spitting at each other. And many were making balls of fire, and throwing them at one another. I saw many others who had cups of fire, out of which they were drinking down flames. And others who held cards of fire in their hands and seemed to be playing with them.

We staid here I thought for about half an hour. Then my guide said, ‘Come, I will show you now a glorious place.’ I walked with him till we came into a narrow road, in which we could hardly walk abreast. This brought us into a great broad place. And I saw the gate of heaven, which stood wide open; but it was so bright, I could not look at it long. We went straight in, and walked through a large place, where I saw saints and angels: and through another large place, where were an abundance more. They were all of one height and stature. And when one prayed, they all prayed, when one sang they all sang. And they all sang alike with a smooth, even voice, not one higher or lower than another. [ symbolic – pris ]

We went through this into a third place. There I saw God sitting upon His throne. It was a throne of light, brighter than the sun. I could not fix my eyes upon it. I saw three, but all as one. Our Saviour held a pen in His hand. A great book lay at His right side, another at His left, and a third partly behind Him. In the first He set down the prayers and good works of His people. In the second He set down all the curses, and all the evil works of the wicked. I saw that He discerns the whole earth at a glance. And He discerns the whole heavens. At once He beholds the earth and heaven with one look.

Then our Lord took the first book in His hand, and went and said. ‘Father, Behold the prayers and works of my people.’ And He held up His hands, and prayed, and interceded to his Father for us. I never heard any voice like that. But I cannot tell how to explain it. And His Father said, ‘Son I forgive thy people; not for their sake, but thine.’ Then our Lord wrote it down in the third book, and returned to His throne rejoicing with the host of heaven.

It seemed to me as if I stayed here several months. But I never slept all the while; and there was no night; and I saw no sky or sun, but clear light everywhere.

Then we went back to a large door, which my guide opened, and we walked into pleasant gardens, by books and fountains. As we walked, I said, ‘I did not see my brother here;’ (who died sometime before) he said, ‘Child, thou canst not know thy brother yet; because they breath remains in thy body, thou shall come again hither, and be joined to these, and know everyone as before.’ I said, ‘When is that to be?’ He said, ‘I know not; nor any angel in heaven, but God alone.’

Then he took me into another pleasant garden, where were all manner of fruits. He told me, ‘This garden bears fruit always.’ Here I saw a glorious place, which had large gold letters written over the door. He bid me read and I read, ‘This is a fountain for sin and uncleanness for my people. At what time so ever they will return, they shall be cleansed from all their idols.’ The door stood open, and I looked in, and I saw, as it were, a great cistern full of water, white as milk. We seemed to walk up and down in this garden for some weeks, and he told me what everything meant. I never wanted to eat or drink, nor felt any weariness.

While we were walking he said, ‘Sing.’ I said, ‘What shall I sing?’ And he said, ‘Sing praises unto the King of the place.’ I sung several verses. Then he said,’  I must go.’ I would have fain gone with him; but he said, ‘Your time is not yet; you have more work to do upon the earth.’ Immediately he was gone; and I came to myself an began to speak.”

Her mother told me further, “As soon as ever Kitty recovered her speech, she gave me just the same account; adding, ’ I have learned the finest hymn you ever heard in your life.’ She then sung three verses, the most solid, awful * words which I have ever heard. Kitty continued speaking many awful words, with many sighs and tears: till about three in the afternoon, she fell into a slumber, which continued till seven. Then she spoke the same things to Mrs Designe; after which she was silent, till about five in the morning.

* awful = full of awe, wonder

Some time ago I was ministering in a church where the Spirit was moving upon many children. A little boy of about seven years old was lying down under the power of the Spirit. I was ministering to the other children and after about twenty minutes he began to cry out. His voice became stronger and louder, and he began to scream “My legs! My legs! They are burning! They are burning !” Immediately, concerned adults came around him and began to pray. I came over and picked him up in my arms and told the tormenting spirit to leave and for the peace of god to come upon him. Suddenly his whole countenance changed to a beautiful smile of peace. I put him back down on the floor and carried on ministering to the other children. After about half an hour he came to himself and asked me if he could tell what had happened to him. I replied, “Go ahead.”

He said, “I found myself in HELL, and there were terrible flames that were burning my legs. There were also horrible creatures with great claws that began to tear at my legs; the pain was awful. As you prayed for me I suddenly left that horrible place and found myself in heaven. It was beautiful and I felt a great peace. I saw many things, including my uncle and my grandfather.” …

28th April. 1746. I inquired more particularly of Mrs Nowens, concerning her
little son. She said, ”He appeared to have a continual fear of God, and an awful sense of His presence; that he frequently went to prayers by himself, and prayed for his father, and many others by name; that he had an exceeding great tenderness of conscience, being sensible of the least sin, and crying and refusing to be comforted, when he thought that he had in anything displeased God; that a few days since he broke out into prayer aloud, and then said, ‘Mama, I shall go to heaven soon, and be with the little angels; and you will be there too, and my papa; but you will not go so soon;’ The day before, he went to a little girl and said, ‘Polly, you and I must go to prayers: Don’t mind our doll: Kneel down now I must go to prayers, God bids me.’” “When the Holy Ghost teaches, is there any delay in learning?” This child was then just three years old. A year or two later he died in peace.

30th July 1758 (Cork)
I began meeting with he children in the afternoon, though with little hopes of doing them good; but I had not spoken long on our natural state before many of them were in tears, and five or six so affected, that they could not refrain from crying aloud to GOD. When I began praying, their cries increased, so that my voice was soon lost. I have seen no such work among children for eighteen or nineteen years.

{ It is worth nothing that Wesley preached to children and was often surprised at the effect. There are many pastors today who would never dream of preaching to the children in their church. They don’t even believe that children can respond to preaching; just give them stories, lessons and entertainment }

24th May 1759. (Thursday) Mr Berridge and I went to hear Mr. Hicks, at Wrestlingworth, four miles from Everton. We discoursed with him first, and were glad to hear he had wholly given himself up to the glorious work of God, and that the power of the Highest fell upon his hearers, as upon Mr. Berridg’s. While he was preaching, fifteen or sixteen persons felt the arrows of the Lord, and dropped down. A few of these cried out with the utmost violence, and little intermission, for some hours; while the rest made no great noise, but continued struggling, as in the pangs of death. I observed, besides these, one little girl deeply convinced, and a boy, nine or ten years old. Both these, and several others, when carried into the parsonage-house, either lay as dead, or struggled with all their might; but in a short time, their cries increased beyond measure, so that the loudest singing could scarce be heard. Some at last called on me to pray, which I did, and for a time all were calm; but the storm soon began again. Mr Hicks then prayed and afterward Mr Berridge; but still, though some received consolation, others remained in deep sorrow of heart.

… There have been many occasions when we have observed children of all ages, from three years to teenagers, come under the power of the Holy Spirit. Some of them have been on the floor for hours in various degrees of experiences from speaking in tongues, crying, laughing , trembling, and shaking with hands extended in worship. Surely, only the Holy Spirit can keep a child’s hands raised up toward heaven for one or two hours. Often their faces have lit up with a heavenly glow. Some of the very small children have drawn pictures of heaven and angels to show their teachers what they saw during those experiences. Parents at later times testified of the changes wrought in their children’s behavior after being touched by God.

Sunday, May 20th. Being with Mr Berridge at Everton, I was much fatigued and did not rise. But Mr. Berridge did, and observed several faintings and crying out while he was preaching. Afterwards at church, I heard many cry out, especially children whose agonies were amazing: one of the eldest, a girl of ten or twelve years old, was full in my view, in violent contortions of body and weeping aloud, I think incessantly during the whole service. And several much younger children were in Mr Berridge’s view agonizing as this did. The church was equally crowded in the afternoon, the windows being filled within and with out, and even the outside of the pulpit to the very top; so that Mr Berridge seemed almost stifled by their breath. Yet feeble and sickly as he is he was continually strengthened, and his voice for the most part distinguishable, in the midst of all the outcries…

The greatest number of them who cried or fell were men: but some women, and several children, felt the power of the same almighty Spirit and seemed just sinking into hell. This occasioned a mixture of various sounds; some shrieking, some ROARING aloud. The most general was a loud breathing, like people half strangled and gasping for life; and indeed almost all the cries were like those of human creatures dying in bitter anguish.

Great numbers wept without any noise; others fell down as dead; some sinking in silence; some with extreme noise and violent agitation . I stood on the pew seat, as did a young man in the opposite pew, an able-bodied, fesh, healthy countryman, but in a moment, while he seemed to think nothing less, down he dropped with a violence inconceivable. The adjoining pews seemed shook with his fall. I heard afterwards the stamping of feet, ready to break the boards, as he lay in strong convulsions, at the bottom of the pew.

Among several that were struck down in the next pew, was a girl who was as violently seized as him. When he fell, Mr. Berridge and I felt our souls thrilled with a momentary dread, as when one is killed by a cannonball, another often feels the wind of it.

Among the CHILDREN who felt the arrows of the Almighty, I saw a sturdy boy, about eight years old, who roared above his fellows, and seemed in his agony to struggle with the strength of a grown man. His face was red as scarlet; and almost all on whom God laid His hand, turned either very red or almost black. When I returned, after a little walk to Mr Berridge’s house, I found it full of people. He was fatigued, but said, he would nevertheless give them a word of exhortation. I stayed in the next room and saw the girl that I had observed so particularly distressed in the church, lying on the floor as one dead, but without any ghastliness in her face. ….After a while she began to stir. She was then set in a chair; and after sighing awhile, suddenly rose up, rejoicing in GOD. Her face was covered with the most beautiful smile I ever saw. She frequently fell on her knees, but was generally running to and fro, speaking these and the like words: ‘O what can Jesus do for lost sinners! He has forgiven my sins! I am in heaven ! I am in heaven! O how He loves me!

Manifestations Part  III
Priscilla van Sutphin

These are scriptures the Lord gave for the manifesting of the Holy Spirit that has been demonstrated in "renewal."  ( I call it "revival"..and when it happens in the lost it is called "Awakening ")  It has happened in many children and youth also, that have been ministered to.  Their  hands get very hot when we pray and they lay hands on each other and pray for each other.   They have also felt the fire of the Holy Spirit many times.

Isaiah 2:11 NKJV   The lofty looks of man  shall be humbled, the haughtiness  of men shall be bowed  down And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Falling down (Slain in the Spirit)

John 18: 4-6 NKJ   Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward     and said to them, "Whom are you seeking?"  They answered Him, "Jesus of Nazareth."  Jesus   said to them, "I  AM He."  And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.  Then , whe  He said to them " I AM he." they drew back and fell to the ground.

Daniel 9:8-10 NKJ   ...therefore I was left alone when I saw this great vision, and no strength    remained in me, and I retained no strength.  Yet, I heard the sound of  his
words.  I was in a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.  Then suddenly a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands.
         (see also Daniel 8)

Hammer Motions with the arms

Jeremiah 23:29 Amp   Is not My word like fire [ that consumes all that cannot endure the test ] ? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [ of most stubborn resistance} ?

On Shaking, and Staggering like a Drunk:

Jeremiah 23:9 NKJ   As for the prophets; My heart is broken within me, all my bones tremble; I    have become like a drunken man, even like a man overcome with wine, because of the Lord, and because of His holy words.

Psalm 77: 14-18  Amp.   You are the God Who does WONDERS; You have demonstrated Your power  among the peoples.  You have with Your [mighty] arm redeemed Your people, the sons of     Jacob and joseph.  Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!  When the waters [at the Red Sea and the Jordan] saw You, O God, they were afraid; the dep shuddered also, for [all] the waters saw You.  The clouds poured down water, the skies sent out a sound [of rumbling thunder];  Your arrows went forth [in forked lightening].  The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind, the lightenings illumined the world; the earth trembled and shook.
{ if the mountains quake in His presence, how much more so the people of God ?}
See   Acts 2 : 2-21  NKJV

Isaiah 10:32-33 NKJ  He will shake His fist at the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of  Jerusalem. Behold the Lord, the Lord of Hosts, will lop off the bough with terror;  those of  high  stature will be hewn down, and the haughty will be humbled. ( ref. Amos 2:9-16)

Amos  2:9-16 NKJ   Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the    height of the cedars, and he was as strong as the oaks;  Yet I destroyed his fruit above and his roots beneath.  also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty  years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.  I raised up some o your sons as prophets, and some of your young men as Nazirites.  ' Is it not so, O you children of Israel ?' says the Lord.  But you gave the Nazarites wine to drink, and commanded the   prophets.....saying, 'Do not prophesy!"  Behold I am weighed down by you, as a cart is weighed down that is full of sheaves.  "Therefore flight shall perish from the swift, the strong shall not  strengthen his power, not shll the mighty deliver himself,
nor shall he who rides a horse  deliver  himself.  The most courageous men of might
shall flee naked in that day ", says the Lord.

Ezekial 6:10-11  NKJ   " And they shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have  not said in vain    that  I would bring this calamity upon them. "  thus says the Lord God: POUND YOUR   FISTS  AND STAMP YOUR FEET AND SAY, "Alas, for all the  evil abominations of the house of Israel !  For they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.
Intercessors would sometimes be seen pounding their fists on their lap as they prayed, or stamping their feet while standing or laying down.

ROARING

Proverbs 28:1 NKJ   The wicked flee when no one puirsues, but the righteous are BOLD AS A  LION.
Numbers 23:19-24 NKJ   God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should    repent, Has He said, and will He not do it ? Or has He not spoken and will He not make it  good? Behold I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it. He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, nor has He seen wickedness in Israel.  The Lord God is with him, and the shout of a King is among them.   God brings them out of Egypt; he has strength like a wild ox. For there is no sorcery against  Jacob, not is there any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob and of Israel, 'Oh, what God has done!'  LOOK, a people rises like a lioness. and lifts itself up like a lion: It  shall not lie down until it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain."  (devouring the prey...meaning this is for deliverance. )

Numbers 24:9 NKJ   He bows down, he lies down as a lion: and as a lion. who will rouse him?'     "Blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is he who curses you."

Isaiah 5:26-30 NKJ He will lift up a banner to the nations from afar, and will whistle to them from the end of the earth Their roaring will be like a lion, They will roar like young lions: Yes,  they will roar and lay hold of the prey .  They will carry it away safely, and no one will    deliver. In that day, they will roar against them like the roaring of the sea., And if one looks  to the land, behold, darkness and sorrow; and the light is darkened by the clouds.

Isaiah 31:4-5 NIV    This is what the Lord says to me; "As a lion growls. a great lion
over his prey and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against
him, he is not frightened by their shouts, or disturbed by their clamor so the Lord
of Hosts will come down to do battle on Mt. Zion and on its' heights."
Hosea 11:10 AMP   They shall walk after the Lord, Who will roar like a lion: He
Himself "  will  roar and [His] sons shall come trembling and eagerly from the west.

Joel 3:16-17 NKJ    The Lord also will ROAR from Zion, and utter His voice from
Jerusalem; The heavens and the earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter
for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel. 'So you shall know that I
AM the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem will
be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again

Amos 3:7-8 AMP   Surely the lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to
His servants the prophets.  [Rev.10:7]  The lion has roared; who will not fear ?  The
Lord  God has spoken:  who can but PROPHESY ?

Revelation 10:1-3 AMP Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven,
robed in a cloud, with a [halo like a] rainbow over his head ; his face was like the
sun, and his feet [legs] were like columns of fire.  He had a little book [scroll] open in
his hand.  He set his right foot on the sea, and his let foot on the land, and he shouted  with a loud voice like the roaring of a lion ; and when he shouted, the seen thunders uttered their voice. ( some believe this is a picture of Christ)

On the  Holy Warring Spirit of God

Isaiah 42:13-16 NKJ  The Lord shall go foth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal
like a man of WAR.  He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;  He shall prevail against His
enemies.  I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself.
Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once.  I will lay waste the  mountains and hills; (symbolic for false authorities, despotisms) and dry up the pools
and I will bring the blind by a way they did not know;  I will lead them in paths they
have not known, I will make darkness light before them, and not forsake them.

Psalm 149:2-9 NKJ Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful
in their King. Let them praise His name with the DANCE; let them sing praises to
Him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will
beautify the humble with salvation. Let the saints be JOYFUL in glory; let them
sing aloud on their beds. Let the HIGH PRAISES of God be in their mouth. And a
two-edged sword in their hand,To execute vengeance on the nations, and
punishments  on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles
with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment, This honor have all the saints.
Zechariah 2:10-13 NKJ   My anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the
goatherds.  For the Lord of Hosts will visit His flock, the house of Judah, and will make  them as His royal horse in battle.  From Him comes the cornerstone, from Him the tent peg, from Him the battle bow, and from Him every ruler together.  They shall fight
because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame. [those
who trust in their own strength] I will strengthen the house of Judah and I will save
the house of Joseph.  I will bring them back, because I have mercy on them.  They
shall be as though I had not cast them aside; for I am the Lord their God.  and I
will hear them.  Those of Ephraim (double-blessed) shall be like a mighty man, and
their hearts shall rejoice as if with wine.

Jeremiah 5:14 NKJ Therefore says the Lord God of Hosts: "Because you speak this word,
behold, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall
         devour  them."
See also  Psalm 19:2-6,  Jeremiah 10:6-16,    Psalm 24:7-10,

Isaiah 60: 1-2 NKJ   Arise, shine; for your light has come!  And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.  For great darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will ARISE OVER YOU and His GLORY WILL BE SEEN ON YOU.

ON HOLY LAUGHTER

Job 8:19-21 NKJ Behold this is the joy of His way, and out of the earth others will grow.
Behold, God will not cast away the blameless, nor will He uphold the evildoers. He
will yet fill your mouth with laughing. and your lips with rejoicing.*( shouts of joy*)
PSALM 2:4 NKJ   He Who sits in the heavens shall LAUGH: the Lord shall hold them
         in derision.
Psalm 37:12-13 NKJ   The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord LAUGHS at him, for He sees his day is coming.

Psalm 26 NKJ  When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those
who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them. The
Lord has done great things for us, whereof we are glad. Bring back our captivity, 0
Lord, as the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who
continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again
with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Nehemiah 8:10
