The ROC All Things Are New Ministry reaches the residents of Richmond-area nursing home facilities with the love of Jesus Christ and serves about 400 individuals every month with a total of 3,000 since the ministry originated in the summer of 2004.

The targeted population is in low-income and Medicare-dependent facilities where there are many individuals who are lonely and discouraged. Each Saturday morning, approximately 25 to 30 volunteers visit several area nursing home facilities to read scripture, pray with residents, and bring a little cheer into their lives. Many of the residents are not visited regularly by family or friends, so this ministry is very important to them. We visit a minimum of six nursing homes every month, so we can be sure to see people on a regular basis at least once a month. An average of 30 residents are getting saved each month.

In addition to the weekly visits, All Things Are New sponsors an outreach to one nursing home a month, so that each nursing home has an outreach twice a year. This ministry is led by Aaron and Elaine Allen and they partner with other ROC ministries, including ROC Steady and The ROC Dance Studio for the outreaches. During the outreaches, the youth involved in the partner ministries perform dances and sing songs for the residents, as well as take time to visit and pray with them. They also give out items that the residents may need or enjoy, including socks, toiletries, cards, or stuffed animals.
