ĚSo we have the prophetic word strongly confirmed. You will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.Ě 2Peter 1:19

Dear %%firstname%%

Scoffers, who scorn GodĚs Word and walk according to their fleshly desires, will be a big part of the end times environment (Jude 1:18). Sadly, we live in a day of doubt, where few find real hope.  Yet, you can surely trust GodĚs Word. His Word is written to transform us, not to fill our heads with knowledge, but to provide practical paths to follow. His Word unfolds the future, and gives us hope, despite our circumstances. Scripture says revelation originated from God, whose Holy Spirit moved men to speak it (2 Peter 2:19-21).  Amazingly, it is a heart of love that motivates God to communicate with mankind, primarily through His Word, how to have a right relationship with Him.

God continually proves His love toward us through His redemptive plans, promises, power and provisions for us.  Just consider His covenant people, Israel; a nation chosen by Him.  He promised them a land and through them, a saviour for the world, where God lovingly redeems the world through Jesus for Himself.

But, God also intended Israel to be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation (Exodus 19:6) so the world would know Him and bring Him glory.  Sadly, Israel failed miserably to faithfully follow Him, so He judged His chosen people and dispersed  them among the nations for 2000 years.  But, His hand remains upon them (Isaiah 54:17) for He is faithful to His eternal covenant with them, as proven through their survival and return to His Land as a nation again in accordance  with His Word (Ezekiel 36:23-24). Now consider this, if God so judged Israel, the apple of His eye, will He not also judge us for our unfaithfulness?

Today, Israel is the center of GodĚs judgement of the world.  His Word tells us that in the last years (Ezekiel 28:8), God brings an evil advance on Israel, who is dwelling securely in her land (Ezekiel 38:8).  Although God brings the advance, it is Gog, the Chief Prince of Meshak and Turbal, along with a coalition of nations (Ezekiel 38:15) who devises an evil plan to plunder and seize IsraelĚs spoil (Ez. 38:12).  Why does God bring Gog against Isreal?  God says it is in order for the nations to know Him as He shows Himself Holy in their sight (Ezekiel 38:16).  GodĚs Word has predicted this battle for years (Ezekiel 38:8), and you can be sure it will come to pass, just as His Word says.

Points to Ponder and Pray:

GodĚs judgment is coming and His Word, written thousands of year ago, paints a picture of that day. On the day Gog advances against Israel, GodĚs wrath will flare up (Ezekiel 38:16)!   On that day, there will be a devastating earthquake in the land of Israel (Ezekiel 38:19).  The fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, indeed, every living creature that crawls on the ground and every human being on the face of the earth will tremble against God.  The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will collapse and every wall will fall to the ground (Ezekiel 38:20).  And then, God will defend the tiny nation of  Israel, and execute His judgment on this advancing army, with plague, bloodshed, as He pours out torrential rain, hailstones, fire and brimstone on Gog, as well as his troops and the many people with him (Ezekiel 38:22).  Certainly, the world will see  His greatness and Holiness displayed, as He reveals Himself in the sight of many nations.  Then they will know He is the Lord (Ezekiel 38:23)!  Do you know God and that He is sovereign over all?  Judgement day is coming; itĚs a sure thing. Therefore, pray and share with  those who are yet to bow their knees to Him, for He desires them all to turn away from their wicked ways and know Him (I Timothy 2:4).

Now, how do you react when people mock JesusĚ soon return and  His coming judgment of the nations?  Do you follow the scoffing crowd or go against the flow of their popular thought?  His Word instructs us to be on our guard, so our minds are not dulled from carousing, drunkenness and worries of life, or we will also be surprised on that day as it hits us unexpectedly, like a trap on all who live on the face of the earth at that time (Luke 31::34-35).  May we always be alert, praying that we have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, so we will not be ashamed to stand before the son of Man, Jesus (Luke 21:36).  Are you walking according to your fleshly desires, like the scoffers, or are you walking victoriously, according to His Spirit? God, in His great mercy and love, has provided a way to keep our paths straight; it is through His Holy Spirit, not our efforts, that we are made holy.

Jesus gave us His purpose for us as explained through His Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Thus, part of His calling on all true followers of Christ is to share what God teaches us with others. Sadly, sometimes this calling requires us to share the hard, unpopular things of God with others.  For example, If we see a wicked person or a brother in sin, and we donĚt warn him, then they will die in their sins.  But, we will also be held responsible (Ezekiel 3:17-20).  If we share with them, and they donĚt turn from their sins, they will die in the sins, but we will not be held responsible, because we warned them.  We are also to be watchmen.  If we see an impending disaster, and donĚt warn others of the coming judgment, they will die in their sins, but we will be held responsible.  If we share, and they donĚt turn to God, then they will die, but we will not be held responsible for their wrong decisions.

Are you watching out for your family and neighbors and friends by sharing with them GodĚs righteousness (Ezekiel 33:6-8) according to the standard of His Word?  Are you a disciple of God, listening attentively to His Word and sharing what you learn with others?  DonĚt shrink back in this endeavor, especially during the times in which we are living. Remember, when we study and follow His Word, it transforms us, and shows us how to live in these times. Let us bring Him gory in all we do!

Thanks for praying.  Your prayers make THE difference. Maranatha!  Jesus is coming soon, and is bringing your reward with Him.  Are you ready?  Is your family ready?
