Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it."

Mark 8:34-35

																							Stewardship of Lands
"

The church is to pray for nations, that impediments be removed on a corporate level, so that those nations are released into a deeper sense of God's call and purpose for their existence.

In every season, in any place created by God, we find beauty......because God has put something of Himself in all creation."- Alistaire Petrie.

God's love and care for His creation has been placed firmly into the hands of man. It is important for us to see and understand land from God's perspective, then, and to know why he is jealous for His land.

Joel 2:18: " The Lord will be jealous for His land and
 take pity on His people."

The people of the Old Testament determined their identity from the land on which they lived and worked, and this in turn reflected the nature of God and character of God as One with whom they were in covenant relationship.

																							"AiMP- SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION"
Reform-"to put or change into an improved form or condition, to amend or improve by change of form or removal of faults." - Merriam-Webster

Thesaurus-
- "to improve by alteration, correction of error, or removal of defects, put into a better form or condition.
-To abolish abuse or malpractice in government for e.g
-Action to improve social or economic conditions".

WHAT IS TRANSFORMATION?

Transform-

Dr Charles Smith defined "transformation" in his book 'NAVIGATING FROM THE FUTURE" (2009), defined transformation; "Transformation is a change in composition or structure, a change in
character or condition. " ✊This happens to be the dictionary definition of transformation.

Transformation is a new possibility, a "wow" that promises more. Transformation is what makes people jump out of bed in the morning and move into their day with enthusiasm and energy. It is the opportunity to start anew or re-vitalize what already exists.

Sustainability normally means keeping a prior innovation alive. - NIGERIA IS GOD'S INNOVATION. KEEPING NIGERIA ALIVE AND AS GOD INTENDED HER IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS AIMP.
THE POWER OF TRANSFORMATION, however, comes from returning to a zero state- the place of creativity and invention. NIGERIA 2012??

It involves a new and free choice to breathe life into what you already have, or to choose a new direction.- NIGERIA 2012????

Trying to keep an old choice going does not work.- NIGERIA is this what we are doing.

Are the efforts toward transformation in -Education, -Communication, -Transportation
for instance, keeping old choices going or does what we have on ground in year 2012 (transformational models) in these 3 spheres reflect where Nigeria wants to be in year 2036? For instance.

Understanding our stewardship responsibility to lands will enable us seek effectiveness in the task of reforming and transforming our nation.

We are asking-
-ARE THE EXISTING PLATFORMS FOR TRANSFORMATION ABLE TO CATER FOR UNBORN GENERATIONS OF NIGERIA?

-ARE THE POLICIES OF OUR GOVERNMENT ABLE TO NAVIGATE US THROUGH THE FUTURE AND ENABLE US TAKE OUR PLACE IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF NATIONS?

-HOW CAN OUR NATION CONVERT OUR MOST VALID ASSET INTO WEALTH AND AND
AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF ENERGY......HUMAN CAPITAL?

-IS OUR NATION ABLE TO TRANSITION FROM OIL TO WHAT GOD HAS ENDOWED HER MOST WITH- HUMAN CAPITAL?

- THE LORD HAS COMMANDED ME TO SAY TO YOU NIGERIA- What I have blessed you with and endowed you with is humans? You need to ask me for strategies
for developing your human resource .

Your future lies in Human Capital Development and you shall build on four pillars-

-Education
-Communication
-Transportation
-Power

DISCUSSION

We have to re-educate the masses and educate the majority who are uneducated. Lack of education has created imbalance in our societies and resentment that must be arrested

Recent research from an inventive, global computer chip corporation showed that ninety percent of innovation projects do not sustain. WHY?

The reasons lie in all the cultural, technical, and personal mental baggage that has accumulated.- HOW ARE WE OUR OWN ENEMIES IN OUR EFFORTS TO INITIATE TRANSFORMATION IN NIGERIA?-
I.e past Failures if not corrected clog the wheel of sustainable transformation.
IMPORTATION VS EXPORT- I have a different perspective on importing goods. We must encourage industry in Nigeria.

we just heard about Gov Rotimi Amechi's challenge to
Christians to be forerunners in transforming our society.

HOW CAN IT BE DONE?

The World Bank's 1993 report on 'The East Asian Miracle' prompted a wave of comparative research aimed at extracting practical lessons for African Countries from the development achievements of many Asian countries in late twentieth Century.
According to this report, the eight high performing Asian economies (HPAEs)- namely Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia- had succeeded by a number of common means: "economic indices"

- by ensuring low inflation and competitive exchange rates
-by creating an effective banking system
-by investing in human capital through education
-by supporting rather than neglecting agriculture
-by insulating civil servants from political pressures
-by forging institutionalizes alliances between government and business;- most characteristically- by emphasizing the growth of exports as at
once a goal, strategy, and touchstone of development ( World Bank 1994:347-68).

ATTITUDINAL CHANGE

To achieve Sustainable Transformation, you have to repeatedly access that empty place in the mind where free choice lives-THE MOMENT OF CHANGE-
ARE THERE TANGIBLE EFFORTS TO "access that empty space in the mind"- ✌I do believe we are good at talking, and there are lots of forums like what we have tonight talking but -
A) how many are willing to CONVERT the talk to ACTION?
B) how many are willing to make that sacrifice and take on the personal responsibility necessary to produce transformational change.

many will express the desire to see transformation in government, politics, spheres of society, even in their homes BUT to achieve sustainable transformation will require:
4 'C's
1. Courage to make a difference
2.Conscience awakening
3. Concern for state of affairs
4. Considerate of others

It will take all four elements
working in synergy to produce transformational leaders, who themselves become pillars of SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION.

Dr Charles Smith calls "truth telling" or what I refer to as "identifying the issues" (at hand ) the "CODE BREAKER" "in all human affairs and a "transformational element.".

In other words, " IF WE ARE SERIOUS ABOUT TRANSFORMATION, AND TRANSFORMATION THAT WILL OUTLAST US, WE HAVE TO :

1. IDENTIFY WITH WHAT HAS GONE WRONG IN THE AREAS THAT WE SEEK RESHAPED
2. WHY THINGS WENT WRONG
3. HOW THEY CAN BE PUT RIGHT.

NIGERIA: In reality only a small percentage of the population will be prepared to take on the level of personal responsibility necessary to produce transformational change. The small percentage of the population are those Dr Smith calls ' NAVIGATORS'.
This is where you come in as an APOSTLE IN THE MARKETPLACE, A STEWARD OF GOD'S RESOURCES WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT -

LANDS BELONG TO GOD, AND A LAND CAN EITHER REFLECT
THE NATURE OF GOD AND FLOURISH OR

BE UNDER A CURSE AND SUFFER DEVASTATION made manifest through government policies that come short of global standards.

Conclude:

"Only through integrating both a noble purpose and a material purpose can we produce sustainable transformation and ongoing success." Dr Smith.

PART 2

Pillars of transformation

-Communication
-Power
-Transportation
-Education
are enabling conditions for sustainable transformation.

Human Capital Development- Education

-Attitudinal Change
-Cultural attitude to enterprise

-planning e.g chairman moa had a policy of one male child per family now China has so many elderly and not so many young unlike India.

Self management team- decision making has to be decentralized

For transformation to be sustainable, it has to be impactful
