Upcoming Events
COME DREAM WITH US . . ! - This Sunday!
Sunday, December 8th, we will have a meeting immediately after church for parents and any others who are interested in engaging with a very important question for IAC:  HOW WOULD IAC LOOK A YEAR FROM NOW IF WE LOVED FAMILIES WELL?  This is a time to talk, to dream together, and to share, as well as to explore what we sense God might be wanting to do in our midst and how we can join Him.
Snacks and a program will be provided for our children during the meeting.

IAC Potluck ¯ Christmas Around The World
Since we are a congregation that represents many cultural backgrounds, this year our brunch theme will be "Christmas Around the World!" On Sunday, December 15th we will once again gather down in the fellowship hall to celebrate Christmas together. we would like ALL of you to sign up to bring food representing your cultural heritage, or a favorite international dish. We need everyone to participate so we have plenty of food! Tess Cox will be at the sign up table in the foyer at church to take down your name and favorite dish. And, if any if you would like to DRESS to represent your cultural heritage, that would be icing on the cake! We're looking forward to celebrating together!"

Alternative Christmas Giving
We traditionally give Christmas gifts to remember the first Christmas presents; those of the wise men to Jesus--gifts that held real meaning. The ACG program allows you to give life-changing gifts to Kibali Parish in the name of someone on your list. You can start purchasing gifts now through Christmas.

IAC Online Directory - Under Construction
The directory is currently under construction.  Thank you for your patience while we get this up and running again!

Message from Susanna Berg
Dear friends,
As some of you have heard, I am planning to be in Rwanda, Africa for the majority of 2014. I am excited to enter this season, and I would like to share more about it with you.

I first went to Rwanda in 2007 with our church. God used that experience in a number of ways in my life. Since then, I have wondered and dreamed of going back to Rwanda for a longer time. However, at each decision point for what was next in life, the timing never seemed right. God always seemed to be leading elsewhere, until this year.

Earlier in the year, I spoke with Peg Henjum about the possibility of spending a longer time in Rwanda. It seemed like I tapped on a door, and it swung open. That began a process of sorting through what it would look like for me to be in Rwanda and how I could be a contributing part of what God is doing there, as well as thinking and praying through my own hopes and fears.

It¯s always interesting to see how God weaves our lives, preparing us for what comes next. I have been teaching for the last three years, and now, I have the opportunity to offer some of the skills I have gained to others by coming alongside some educational ventures in Rwanda. One of the things I am most excited about is doing teacher training! Education is a key factor that Rwanda is facing as a country, and I am looking forward to working with teachers¯ones who make a long-term impact on the next generation of Rwandese! Additionally, there is an opportunity for me to spend time with our sister church and to offer English classes in the community.
I am excited to enter into what God has in this next year. If you would be interested in learning more about Rwanda and what I will be involved in while I¯m there, I will be hosting a community informational time for people from our church as well as others in the community. It will be on Saturday, December 7th at 921 Farragut Avenue, just a few blocks from the SDA building off of Union. Between 4:00pm and 5:00pm, I will share more about Rwanda and plans for the next year. At 5:00pm, you are welcome to share a meal of soup and bread!

Many of you have also expressed interest in getting updates. This has been so encouraging! If you would like to receive monthly updates and/or specific prayer e-mails, please e-mail me (sberg@westmont.edu) your e-mail address or find me at church. The mailing system in Rwanda is not reliable, so my updates will be through e-mail. If you have any additional questions, I¯d be happy to talk with you or e-mail you!

For now, please pray for wisdom beyond my years as I enter another culture, for all the logistics to come together, and for discernment, trust, and joy as I follow Jesus in this next year. I am so blessed by this body of believers!

Blessings,
Susanna Berg
