The time for financial debt to leave your life has come. The spirit of debt has lingered long enough at the doorposts of your home and your wallet. The anointing of Jesus is present to bring forth a full measure of salvation that reaches into every facet of your life, including your finances. God wants you to be completely free in every area so that you can serve Him without distraction or limitation of any kind. There is an anointing contained within the wisdom of God to detonate every shackle of debt and to move you forward into the abundance that is your rightful portion in Christ.
In order for the Church to rise to her place of authority and weighty influence within the earth she must overcome the spirit of financial debt. The spirits that are in the world will try to subtly work their way into the church if allowed. Within the last three generations the spirit of debt was slowly and quietly able to penetrate into the church. Because of this it is now almost common for the majority of believers to be in debt. Most of our grandparents did not know the type of debt that is experienced so frequently today. Credit cards with 30% interest rates, eight-year vehicle loans and forty-year home mortgages were unheard of in their age. It is the plan of the enemy to entangle the Bride of Christ in debt so that the work of evangelism is frustrated.
The unsaved people of the world are never going to fund the preaching of the Gospel. It is the Church that is assigned the global task of taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. The devil knows that if the Church is burdened with financial debt then it cannot render the swift and powerful response needed during seasons of evangelistic harvest. God wants to detonate your debt and lift you up as a financial champion. This way you can be a prime kingdom supporter and enjoy the unparalleled peace that comes through operating in God’s unfailing covenant.
What is debt and why is it so dangerous to the believer? Debt is the spending of tomorrow’s income, today. While a person may think they are purchasing a new type of freedom by going into debt today, they are actually positioning themselves to be slaves tomorrow. Debt is an indicator that you are living beyond your means. People often use debt to not only acquire things that would be considered necessary items, but also for the purchase of unnecessary things such as exercise equipment or artwork. Debt often causes a person to bite off more than they can chew. High credit limits are soon reached and the infamous “minimum balance payment” is now made for countless years while barely affecting the principal amount owed. When we spend beyond our capacity it is because of untamed personal cravings.
Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge.
(Isaiah 5:13)
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
(Hosea 4:6)
When we do not have knowledge of God’s principles we are in the dark. You can be a Christian but still know the bitter taste of financial captivity due to not being aware of or not practicing the covenant principles that position you for success. It is impossible to break Scriptures without getting broken. Through his scheme against the Church the enemy will tempt a believer to get on the treadmill of debt. The devil knows that if a believer will just take the initial steps to get on this treadmill then it is very difficult for them to get off because it is a spiritual treadmill that is programmed to never stop, but to keep one running and sweating for the rest of their life. Through the grace of Jesus your days of running on the debt treadmill can come to a decisive end. Through the wisdom and power of God you can see the full detonation of all your debts. Each debt paid off, removed out of your life and blown away with nothing left of it to remind you of your former captivity.
Why do most Christians go into debt and why has debt become so prevalent in the Church today? One of the key reasons for which believers enter into debt is because they judge God to be too slow in financing their plans. They fail to rule over their soul and thus choose to take matters into their own hands. Through borrowing they are willing to suffer rough treatment and even the loss of their dignity in order to get what they want now without having to wait.
The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
(Proverbs 22:7)
A slave has no say-so in how things are done. The will of a slave is a distant concern for the lender, for the lender only cares about one thing, which is to keep you in a permanent position of financial slavery so that you can make more money to fund his agenda.
The poor pleads for mercy, but the rich answer harshly.
(Proverbs 18:23)
Borrowers have to endure whatever conditions the lender imposes. Not only potentially harsh interest rates, but also snide remarks, rude treatment, intentionally making you sit and wait long periods of time – just because they can. Becoming a debtor is truly a position that forces you to bow the knee and put up with things that normally you wouldn’t tolerate. God is able to bless you and lead you on a much better path. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. He is fully able and willing to help deliver you from the tyranny of debt. In order to accept His grace, you need to be committed in your heart to “not go back to Egypt”. Why would the Lord deliver you out of debt if you only plan on going back into it again?
The wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
(Proverbs 13:22b)
Many Christians have unknowingly disqualified themselves from this verse found in Proverbs. If the Lord were to transfer the wealth of the sinner into their possession, instead of immediately sending a generous portion of it to support the work of Christian ministry, they would turn right back around and send it back into the ungodly world-system through some means of borrowing. The Lord desires to see you make a permanent step into debt-freedom by making a commitment within your heart to stay out of debt going forward.
The Lord has many solutions for how your debts can be detonated. Debts can be paid down one at a time, usually beginning with the smallest first, and then going to the next debt until each one is eventually eliminated. Debts can also be wiped out 100% through the Lord’s supernatural grace and intervention. There are various examples of this in Scripture, with a timeless and classic example found in 2 Kings, the fourth chapter.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons can live on the rest."
(2 Kings 4:7)
A specific offering can also be sown as a seed with the targeted intent of receiving a harvest in a needed area, as we see in the following words of Paul.
And God, who supplies seed for the sower and bread to eat, will also supply you with all the seed you need and will make it grow and produce a rich harvest from your generosity.
(2 Corinthians 9:10)
I would like to present an opportunity for you to sow a Debt Demolition Seed. Our administrative offices (housed in the Fellowship Hall) and internet streaming studio (housed in the sanctuary) are being upgraded in Moravian Falls, North Carolina. We are believing God for the provision to put a new roof on both buildings. The cost for the Fellowship Hall new roof is $7,000, and those funds have been met through your generous donations. The roofing company will be out soon to carry out the install.
The larger sanctuary roof will cost $12,000 and your financial seed sown into this project will be applied towards this need. As you sow your seed in faith, release your expectation for the Lord to impart into your life His grace for all of your debts to be detonated and removed. I join my faith with yours for this to be accomplished, and believe that you will leap forward into your destiny, unhindered in any way.
Richest Blessings,
Pastor Steven
