RIVER REVELATIONS:

Idols

Ephesians 5:11  and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

How often we erect idols in our life.  Idols that take the place of God in our heart.  If we are completely honest, we will admit that we all have bowed down to worship gods other that our heavenly Father.  We’ve allowed idols of wood and stone, idols that have eyes to see, but see not, ears to hear, but hear not, take up residence in our heart.

Exodus 34:14  For thou shalt worship no other gods; for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

These idols provoke God to jealousy.  These gods are false, have no power, and desire our love, the love we have set aside for our King. They desire our complete worship and loyalty; they are completely opposite of our God.  They try to keep us bound; Jesus sets us free.  They want us to sin and become more entrenched in our frailties, Jesus wants us to prosper and be in health. While they look to their own interests and what is best for them, Jesus is always there willing to help us and take us on to a high dimension in Him.

The Lord is longing for His Bride (The Church) to know who she is in Him

On June 7, 1997 the Lord gave me this word:

My Bride dances to the beat of My heart says the Lord. I am coming for a Bride full of passion and compassion,

A Bride that is a fire, a Bride that is caring and sharing, loving and giving.

A Bride that is hot and boiling over with love for the lost, a lamp that does not go out, a light in the darkness, and a voice against the night.

A bride that is pure and sanctified and full of mercy and grace, yet righteous because she follows after her Lord, and does what He does.  A wise virgin whose oil does not run dry, who keeps her lamp trimmed, and ready to be a light.

A Bride of worship who sings praises to her Bridegroom—

Be ready, Behold I come soon.

Jesus is preparing His Bride; He is bringing us to the wilderness to teach us about His love for us.  When we are totally in His hands, we will begin to trust and obey—these are the only two things He requires of us. Let us lay down our idols, tear down those thrones we’ve made, and honor the One who is worthy of all praise.  Bow down to the One true God that can save us, heal us, deliver us, and resurrect us into His image.
