John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”

When you turn on the TV and see grown men about to cry openly you know that something really bad has occurred.  Yesterday twenty people were tragically killed in El Paso Texas, and many more wounded by a gunman.  How can this happen?  What is going on?  How can this be in America?

The only answer to all of this is we are in the Last Days.  If this can happen now, when the Holy Spirit is on the earth, what is it going to be like when the church and the Holy Spirit are taken up in the rapture?  Will every Walmart, store and mall have an armed guard every few feet?  Will there be metal detectors and body searches that they will have to go through just to buy a new pair of shoes?

Yes, that is exactly what it will be like, and it will be just another day on Main Street, no one will cry over the poor little kids who are lying dead on the mall floor. There will be no services held for the dead and no sympathy and compassion for the families of the dead and wounded.  It is hard to believe, but that seems to be the direction this world is coming too.

Jude 8: “Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries.”

This is what the world will be like without God, without hope, and without the power of Holy Spirit to guide and help them through each episode of brutality and hopelessness.  People will be acting out their frustrations, killing any who are good, and walk according to their own lusts. This is not a place we want to be, nor a place we want anyone in our family to be.  It is so important that we continue to win the lost, to bring the gospel into a hurt and dying world.

Jude 23: “but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.”

Soon the Lord will return and it will be too late for those who have chosen to stay with the grumblers, complainers, and mockers who walk around according to their own lusts; sensual persons without the Holy Spirit.

I fear that we will see more and more tragedies as God warns us to turn back to stop the direction we are going, and repent of our sin.  God is so loving and forgiving, there is no sin so great that He will not forgive, but the sinner must know he is sinning, and he must ask for forgiveness.  Salvation is for today!  Salvation is available to everyone!

Jude 20:  But you beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
