Song Of Solomon 5:1 is a representation of Christ the beloved coming into His prepared garden to partake of its fruits. In this analogy, we as the bride of Christ are His garden. The verse ends with, “Eat, friends; Drink and imbibe deeply O lovers.” This is a depiction of the mutual sharing between the Lover of our Souls and us as His prepared garden and bride. The basis for this wonderful sharing in this secret place of the garden of our heart is the everlasting covenant that Isaiah speaks of in 55:3. “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies shown to David.” There is a place of extreme delight in the wonders of covenant love that will carry us way beyond our meager efforts to find satisfaction in anything of this earth. May this poem help serve to transport us to this unspeakable place of wonder where Christ partakes of our fruit and we partake of His grace as Friends and Lovers.

Oh, I have wonders!
Wonders I long to share
Deep secrets
Hidden in My heart

Ready to impart
To My friends and lovers
As we abide
As we imbibe

You will discover
Things beyond imagination
My preparation

For you
A stunning view
What has been sealed
Now revealed

My garden is prepared
I enter to share
In your fruits
Just we two

Lovers and friends
No other end
But to belong
Singing our song

To one another
Satisfied in abundance
Our unbroken covenant
Wrapped in gentleness

Sealed with a kiss
Grace that emanates
From My face
In the secret place

Where whispers are shared
My chambers there
Lost in embrace
Face to face

Your heart listening
Your eyes glistening
Your cares dismissing
To My love

I lift you above
All earthly shadows
Into one desire
Your heart on fire

You are consumed
In radiant splendor
Shining forth My glory
The image of My story

Your voice is My echo
Your choice My glow
Of righteousness
Fruit from My caress

My wonders unfold
Mysteries untold
So much to know
Of love so true

I long to show you
The unspeakable view
Just waiting for you
Oh, so new!

Come, incline your ear
One voice to hear
Your heart clear
Simply draw near

And listen
To Spirit’s revelation
Of faithful mercies shown
To My own

Bought with a price
To be lifted high
Grace fills your eye
Now you are Mine

Me and you
Walking secret pathways
Discovering endless wonders
Two friends and lovers
