He's the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence." Psalms 91:2 The Passion Translation
Psalm 91 is a beautiful psalm of protection. The starting point of the psalm is "dwelling" - us finding that deep connection, heart to heart, secret place in God. This is where we dwell. This is where our heart, mind and soul can call 'home'.
Have you found 'home'? Have you found that intimate dwelling
place in God? The invitation from our Heavenly Father to dwell in that secret place is always there.
The psalmist could declare that God was the hope that held him, because he knew he wasn't looking to any other dwelling place or source other than God. God as his hope is what gave the psalmist "great confidence".
Philippians 3 :4 says to put no confidence in the flesh. Our confidence should not be in what human effort, planning, good ideas or strategy we can come up with. Our confidence comes from Someone far more dependable, who is perfect in all of His ways.
Can you hear the invitation from your Heavenly Father to dwell in Him today? He is your source of hope and confidence to face every new
"From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe". Psalms 61:2-3 NIV.
