Beloved brethren, it is clear in the Word of God that we have been made to be in right standing with God. This is available to us because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has accomplished for us at the Cross. But He also broke the power of sin in our lives and has given us the power to be free of habitial sins.

As seen in Matthew chapter 1 verse 21, 'And she shall bear a son, and you shall call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.' Notice He did not say that He would save us 'in our sins'.  So it is clear that we are freed from our sins, not in our sins. Jesus said in John chapter 8 verse 34, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever practices sin is the slave of sin.' So if we practice sin and are habitially sinning Jesus said we are a slave to the sin. But we have been made free of habitial sins beacuse of what Christ Jesus did on trhe cross. He who the Son sets free is free indeed! But we must trust and believe what God has promised is true. We can be free of the sins that bind us up.

We have been crucified with Christ and the word says in Romans 6:6-7 that, knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin. For he who died has been justified from sin. So we must believe that we are dead to sin and alive to God even as it says in Romans 6:11.

If we try to defeat sin on our own we will fail, that would be trying to follow the law. But we are under grace. As it is written in Romans 6:12-14, Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Do not yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God, as one alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under Law, but under grace. Continue to read and meditate on Romans cha[ter 6, 7 and 8, and you will see that we can walk free from the habitial sins in our lives. But we must trust in His grace and abide in Him.

My brethren, we know that we once where sinners and continue to struggle in regards to sin in our mortal, fleshly, body. But what I am saying is that when we stop trying to free ourselves and completely rely on Jesus to set us free, we will be free indeed. The Word of God works if we just trust, obey and believe.

Let us go forth and become more like Jesus not allowing the world system or the devil access to our fleshly nature. Let us reckon our fleshly nature dead to sin with the help of Jesus and slam the door on the devil and the worldly system. So we can go on and be bright lights for the kingdom of righteousness.

Love,

P.S. -  Please remember to pray for this upcoming election. It is a pivotal time in which we are living. Our nation is at a fork in the road. Which one will we follow. Closer to God or farther away from Him. But always remember, no matter what goes on in the nation, we can choose to get as close to God as we desire.
