We honor you this Memorial Day, A note of thanks to our military
On behalf of ACT for America staff and I, By Brigitte Gabriel
Words tremble on my lips and emotions swell in my heart in my attempt to humbly thank you for all the things you do to protect America and the world. Words cannot express my depth of gratitude to your service, to your sacrifice, to all that you leave behind to go forth into the world and protect America's interests around the globe.
Let my grateful tears thank you for the nights you slept freezing in a tent or sweating in the desert, for the lonely days you spent missing your loved ones, for the hours you spent sick in pain and without someone holding your hand, for the moments of sheer fright in the heart of battle, for the wounds you have suffered fighting evil, for the endless days in hospitals undergoing painful surgeries, for the precious occasions you have missed back at home. For all of these sacrifices I thank you on behalf of millions of Americans who are so grateful for you. We truly appreciate these sacrifices.
A special thank-you is in order to your families, to the parents who raised you and made you be the man or woman you are today. I thank your wives, husbands, and your loved ones who stand by you and support you with their love and dedication.
And for those who returned in eternal sleep, may your legacy be honored for generations to come, may the tears shed over your coffins fertilize the fields of patriotism in our nation to raise a new generation built on strength and honor, able and willing to follow in your footsteps when duty calls to defend America. May your blood not have been shed in vain. May we prove worthy of your sacrifice. May we always honor your parents so they will always know that they are the parents of an American hero.
You are our brave ones, our heroes, and our national treasures. You are the pride of our nation, our strength and our foundation. Thanks to you, millions have been freed around the world. Thanks to you, those who criticize our country, burn our precious flag, and speak ill of you, are able to do so because their freedom is built upon your blood and your sacrifice.
I salute you one and all. I bow before you in respect and humility. May God bless you and bless America, land of the free and home of the brave, and the dream that became my address.

Protecting Veteran's Memorials
This Memorial Day you can do something to show our military service men and women that you appreciate their sacrifices.  Across the nation veteran's memorials are under attack from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) because they claim the presence of any religious symbol such as a cross or a Star of David on the public memorial is a government establishment of religion.  One case, that of Salazar v. Buono - the Mohave Desert Memorial - is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.  In support of veteran's memorials, the Liberty Legal Institute has joined with the leading veteran's organizations and Harry and Wanda Sandoz, the caretakers for the Mojave Desert Memorial in filing a brief before the court and launching a petition drive where citizens can thank and support our military veterans.

Remembering Their Sacrifice
As you make plans for the weekend, don't forget to take some time to remember those who willingly offered their "lives, fortunes, and sacred honor" to purchase and preserve our freedom.
The "censorship doctrine" is one of the things that this year threatens our freedom to speak and our freedom to listen.  Some of the latest news on this topic and some actions that you can take to preserve these freedoms can be found here. http://www.freedomtolisten.org/
A couple of years ago, the American Legion, Liberty Legal Institute, and the Alliance Defense Fund put together a video called "What About Arlington" that's worth watching or seeing again this weekend.

A Note Of Appreciation To Military Service Members, from a reader
The month of May is a time when America honors its military-service members, past and present.  We celebrate National Military Appreciation Month, Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day to pay tribute to the men and women in uniform who, through their service, have enabled all Americans to enjoy the "blessings of liberty" envisioned by our forebears.
As we approach the Memorial Day holiday and the month draws to a close, I ask that you take a moment to reflect upon the precious gift of freedom our veterans and service members have presented to us-a gift they paid for with strength, courage, determination, self-sacrifice, and, in too many cases, their lives. We see their dedication to the mission.  We witness their courage and sacrifice.  We feel their pride and passion.
I want to express my deepest thanks and admiration to all who currently serve in our nation's military, to all of our veterans, and to their families, whose contributions to our freedom are equally profound.  I hope you will join me in thanking all of them.
I hope we can all take a moment this long holiday weekend to reflect on all that our men and women in uniform do for our country and consider ways to show our appreciation.  Thank you, and enjoy the holiday!

Preserving America: Memorial Day Message  By Ilana Freedman
Over the course of our 233 year history, Americans have been called upon to fight wars against people who wanted to take from us more than we were willing to give.
Today Americans once again face an enemy that threatens to destroy the things we hold most dear - our freedom and our right to live our lives in peace. But today's enemy differs from those of the past - it represents no foreign government, wears no uniform, lives among us, and has threatened to destroy us. We have greeted our enemy with open arms, invited them into our communities. They have entered our schools, our workplace, our organizations and our government, and we don't know who they are.
The enemy has a name. It is radical Islam and it is sworn to our destruction. The great tragedy is that we tolerate the brewing hatred that jihad generates.
Earlier this year, for example, right here in America where everyone is supposed to be entitled to live free from fear and enjoy equal protection under the law, demonstrators against the Gaza war chanted, "Long live Hitler! Put Jews in ovens! Jews are fossil fuel!" without intervention. In a less violent demonstration of unequal justice, Christian prayers - even silent ones - have been banned from our schools, in an apparent application of the separation of church and state. Yet in these same schools, units of study on Islam have been allowed, even to the inclusion of prayer.
Our laws against incitement have yet to meet a current Constitutional test in the Supreme Court, but when our community tolerates the protection of one group (Muslims) at the expense of another (Jews and Christians) then our system has broken down.
Today, as we approach Memorial Day, a time when we honor those who have sacrificed their own lives so that we can live ours in freedom, we would do well to contemplate the reasonable boundaries between tolerance and appeasement, between acceptance and self-abasement. If we turn over our society to those who would destroy it, out of a misplaced sense of correctness or apathy, the meaning of Memorial Day will have been lost, as will our freedom and our nation
One hundred years from now, history will give silent testimony to the strength of our commitment to those principles that we claim to hold most dear, and to whether we were willing to stand firm and fight with conviction for America's fundamental dream: the right to self-determination; to individual freedom, the undying wisdom of our Constitution, and the right to be the best we can be, to achieve the best that is within us.

The Jihadi Virus in our Jails
President Obama's speech on homeland security was 6,072 words long. Curiously, he chose not to spare an "a," "and" or "uh" on the New York City terror bust that dominated headlines the morning of his Thursday address. Did the teleprompter run out of room?
After a yearlong investigation launched by the Bush administration, the feds cracked down on a ring of murder-minded black Muslim jailhouse converts preparing to bomb two Bronx synagogues and "eager to bring death to Jews." They also planned to attack a New York National Guard air base in Newburgh, NY, where the suspects lived and worshiped at a local mosque.
Not one word from the president on the jihadists' intended victims, motives or means.
No comfort for the reported targets in the Big Apple, still raw from the Scare Force One rattling that so vainly and recklessly simulated 9/11.  No condemnation for the accused plotters.

Vice  President Cheney's Speech On Why Obama Is Wrong On Terror
Being the first vice president who had also served as secretary of defense, naturally my duties tended toward national security. I focused on those challenges day to day, mostly free from the usual political distractions. I had the advantage of being a vice president content with the responsibilities I had, and going about my work with no higher ambition.
" Today, I'm an even freer man. Your kind invitation brings me here as a private citizen - a career in politics behind me, no elections to win or lose, and no favor to seek. The responsibilities we carried belong to others now.
"And though I'm not here to speak for George W. Bush, I am certain that no one wishes the current administration more success in defending the country than we do.
"We understand the complexities of national security decisions. We understand the pressures that confront a president and his advisers. Above all, we know what is at stake. And though administrations and policies have changed, the stakes for America have not changed."

(Obama's) Birth Certificate Billboard Mania Continues
First sign erected in 'truth and transparency' campaign. More than $25,000 has been raised in the first two days of a national billboard campaign to raise awareness of questions surrounding the constitutional eligibility of Barack Obama to serve as president - and the first sign, an electronic one, is already up and online.
Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND, said he's calling it "the truth and transparency campaign."

New American Idol: Christian Worship Leader From Arkansas
Arkansas student Kris Allen won the eighth season of "American Idol" on Wednesday, dealing an unexpected defeat to singing rival Adam Lambert on the most popular U.S. television show.
Allen, 23, who won over audiences with his all-American good looks and by putting his personal spin on popular tunes, appeared shocked as Lambert, a 27-year-old musical theater actor, embraced him after host Ryan Seacrest's announcement.

Okla. governor signs bill allowing Ten Commandments monument
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry has signed a bill to permit a Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the state Capitol.
Henry took the action Monday, rejecting arguments that the display would be unconstitutional.
The bill's House sponsor says he'll use family funds to pay the $10,000 cost of the monument, which he insists will honor the historical rather than religious significance of the Ten Commandments.
The American Civil Liberties Union is considering challenging the measure.
