Experiencing God replaced with Head Knowledge
The true Christian experience is just that…an experience of God and man meeting and a powerful change taking place on the inside of man by the power of God. But, over the centuries, and just in the last 100 years, knowledge has increased and reared its ugly head above the simplicity of personally experiencing God.
We see it in every “move of God” and self-proclaimed Christian faction or sect where differences of doctrine are rampant and claimed as authentic in one way or another. Satan has one of two ways to mislead individuals….from causing an expectation of some inner feeling, or an acceptance of an outward observation or understanding.
We know from Scripture that God’s Kingdom is an establishing of His indwelling ruler-ship between Himself and those who are truly His. This relationship is based upon Revelation and a commonly experienced “knowing” of each other given of God to us personally.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
2 Tim. 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Over the years there have been many counterfeit experiences and erroneous teachings which have misled many individuals in their search for “religion”. But it is only God’s own who are guaranteed a genuine “sealing” and an authentic experience as God draws and apprehends them with an inward Revelation and “knowing” experience.
These experiences are not without outward and inward, audible and emotional manifestations, as the Scriptures are clear on the spiritual dynamics of man encountering the living and true God. From the born-again experience to the infilling and endowment of God’s power in our lives, we will inevitably EXPERIENCE spiritual, emotional and physical sensations upon our finite beings. We see these manifestations as patterned in the new Testament church in the Scriptures.
The Scriptures are our final vindication and authority to which we are accountable and have total access.
There have always been and always will be counterfeits and the erroneous. But this does not alter the fact that God's children come to Him in full confidence and expectation of the miraculous and dynamically uplifting. From heart-wrenching brokenness before God, to joyous regeneration and the miraculous giftings of God’s Spirit….we are open to all manifestations as initiated and inspired by Him, and identified in His true church.
Then, there has also been many sectarian and cultish branches of “Christendom” which have threatened to divide and destroy and undermine these genuine manifestations and experiences promised to God’s people. “Scarecrows” have been set up to cause nervous caution and suspicion surrounding Holy Ghost inspired sensations and manifestations.
Often taking the place of these Scriptural experiences will be an ecclesiastical control which informs the gullible that “agreeing with our doctrine” is the only real and final proof of your experience with God.
No longer is the individual confident in His one-on-one experience with God, but must deny that inner reality and surrender it to the acceptance of an outward and objective series of doctrinal understandings. This forces the individual to deny his spiritual capacities and exercise his mind to accept these doctrinal ideas.
Paul gives us some encouragement along these lines by his own example. He says, “I delight in the law of God after the inward man.” Rom. 7:22
He says, “whom I serve with my spirit…” Rom. 1:9
And in many cases Paul salutes the saints with “the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit…” Gal. 6:18 ; 2 Tim. 4:22 ; Philemon 25
So, obviously, Christianity is a spiritual awakening and experience with God, first and foremost. This awakening begins in our spirits. It is the spirit of man which is the power source of our being, and the place where we are made one with God. This is where God dwells and influences our spiritual sensibilities with His presence. This is from where “fountains of living waters” proceed forth upon the experience of the new birth, and from whence cometh “Rivers of living Waters” overflowing from our bellies (spirits) upon the infilling and empowering of God’s Spirit.
The mind will be renewed to the Life and Truth which is known first in our spirits. This is God’s order “Spirit, soul and then body”.
Beware of those who put mind first, and proceed to belittle and make seem foolish the dynamics and attributes of the spiritual realm. The carnal mind is at enmity with God. In all true Christian growth our minds will be renewed to what we experience and receive in our spirits first. Revelation comes to our spirits. God comes to our spirits.
“God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in Truth”. John 4:24
Don’t be swayed or blind-sided by the many scarecrows and suspicions set up by religious intellectuals, and those who would seek to undermine that “inner Unction” of God's Spirit which bears witness to His dealings and manifestations in your life.
When they undermine various manifestations and experiences because of counterfeits, be on the guard that they are also seducing the carnal intellect to agree with their doctrine at the expense of your spiritual sensitivities.
Keep your spirit man built up, praying in the Holy Ghost. Stir yourself up. Keep the inner fire of your spirit ignited and zealous of God’s Kingdom. The “wise virgins” had oil in their “lamps”….in their spirits.
“The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord….”
Praise God forever. Amen.
