ARE YOU ABOUT YOUR FATHERS BUSINESS?
Evangelist Dorinda Hicks

This morning when I got up for my quiet time, after being in that secret place, that place we all so desire to be in, I was touched.  I can remember back to when I thought I did not have time to pray.  I was running late and would let myself be consumed by the things I thought I needed to do.  I have since come to a place where I do not need to ever think I can start my day without giving my God the glory and thanking Him for waking me in my right mind with a reasonable portion of my health and strength. I know today, I cannot live without Him.  I know today, I do not want to make any decisions without Him.  I used to only call on Him for the big things, but He wants to be a part of all of our decisions.  He wants to be our EVERYTHING!

A very sweet young lady that I have shared with for years was online early this morning.  She was doing some stuff for school.  I wanted to tell her hi and tell her how proud of her I am.  She made me remember how important it is to take time with people.  I could remember when she would share with me about things going on in her life.  She is a single mother of a 3 year old, working full time, and taking three very involved classes in college.  She is scheduled to graduate next year.  When I look at her it shows me the importance of us stepping outside of ourselves and speaking life into someone else.  She has a success story.  Everybody does not get that chance, but since she did not give up when she got pregnant the LORD is going to bless her.  I have watched her life totally turn around for the good.  He told us in his Word that He would  work all things out for your good.  I have seen Him do that in her life.

When I think of her, I think of the circle of life.  We are all connected to someone. We cannot all give money, but can you give anyone some of your time?  Can you give someone hope.  That is what it really is all about. I can never forget where I came from and if I remember correctly, I would not be where I am now except a few sisters were there for me.  There heard my every cry.  They were there to help me make good godly decisions.  They gave me godly counseling.  They helped me   set goals for myself.  They helped me set boundaries, something I never had in my life.  You ever hear it told, we do not have to recreate the wheel.  It has already been invented and it works.  If we can step outside of ourselves and are willing to be transparent there is someone we all can help.  We sometimes complain about giving of our time, but God gave us his only Son.  Are you sure you can not give someone a little of your time?
I bless God for the place that He has me in at this time of my life.  Our responsibility is to say yes.  I finally see it aint about me.  It never was about me.  Its all about God.  Its about God getting the glory out of our life, no matter where we come from.  No matter what we have done, he forgives us.  Our God is bigger than any problem we think we have.  At our weakest moments, He shows up and shows us how powerful He is.  He shows us how He can do anything but fail.  He specializes in the impossible.  When we are weak He is strong.

So on today, I pray that God puts a SUPER on your natural.  I pray that He opens doors for you that have been closed.  I pray that He closes any doors in our lives that need closing.    I pray that He gives his people the desires of their heart.  I pray that He puts someone on your heart that you can pray for,  nurture, encourage, love on, speak life into, give hope, and help be restored. We cancel the assignments of the devil on today.  We pray for Gods ministering angels to encamp us on today and minister to us throughout the day.  We pray for a safe place for our children today as they go to school.  We pray for their protection on the way to school.  I watched the news last night and it was 4 cases in a row involving teachers and coaches, and then just some old man who have molested boys and girls as young as 9 years old.  Father, put a hedge of protection around our children.  We pray for those who are confined to hospitals, nursing homes, and for those who are sick and shut in.  We pray for those who suffer from any type of addiction.  We pray for their children who do not get a say in the matter.  We pray that God's people can receive the things that they have been praying for.  We pray for those who are walking around with hung down heads.  We send up these petitions and prayers to our  heavenly Father.  We declare it and decree it, it is so!  We thank God in advance for answering our prayers.

Question for you today, "Are you your brothers keeper?"  I know many of us want to say no, but the answer to that is yes.  I do believe that we have our sisters and our brothers healing and deliverance tied up within us.  He set you free to go back and help others be set free.  Why keep it for yourself?  So no matter what you are going through today,  step outside of your circumstances and speak life into someone else.  I am a true believer that if we take care of Gods business, he will take care of ours.  Oh by the way, we do not have any business.  Our business should be GOD'S BUSINESS!  So in closing, I have another question for each of you?  Are you about your fathers business?

For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that  whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
 John 3:16 (NIV)

As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievance you may have against one another.  Forgive as the LORD forgave you.
And over all these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Colossians 3:12-14 (NIV)
