Special Praise and Thanksgiving Update

We all want to give special thanks and praise to our God for His phenomenal answer to many months of prayer for Christiaan and Rita in Keetmanshoop, Namibia. Their work permits have been approved for one year! They will be able to return to Belgium to see their family and spend Christmas with them. We also want to thank the Namibian Government for allowing them this great opportunity to continue to take care for a group of children they have been caring for, for nearly 5 years. This is a blessing to children, to us as a ministry but also to them as a couple. May these children and young adults really come to fully understand what it means to know and follow the Lord Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour. We honour HIM for HE is worthy!

Special Prayer Request for the International Board of Trustees Meeting to be held in Belgium 4th to 6th November and Monday November 8th

Through the Lord¯s provision all Ministry Country Directors can attend this crucial meeting: Everyone was granted a visa; all but one airline ticket has been paid for; they have all prearranged accommodation and three of them will extend their stay to visit churches and friends to share and report back on what our God has done in their countries.

Our Belgium Office has done an incredible amount of work to make it possible for us to meet in Belgium. Not having a fulltime paid staff person, the group of volunteers they were able to recruit did a marvellous job. Give thanks to the Lord that He is using the BODY to make HIS will happen.

Give thanks for all the EXCO and BOARD members who have worked very hard, held many meetings, spent hours in discussions and used their personal resources in preparation of this very important meeting.

From Monday November 1st until Thursday the 4th many of those attending the meeting will be travelling. Trust the Lord that their travel experience will be without incidents and that they will get easy access to the countries they will travel through; that Immigration Officials will be helpful and Customs will not give them a hard time, as Africans often suffer as a result of prejudice.

The meeting starts on Thursday November 4th until Saturday 6th .Beseech the Lord God for wisdom, guidance and Holy Spirit agreement on the matters that will be discussed and decided upon. The Executive is presenting a major Strategy Paper to the Board for acceptance, approval and implementation. That is the reason why all our Country Directors will attend the meeting.

Will you especially pray for Chas Sims, the Chairperson who will lead the meeting! He needs a special touch from the Lord to know how to conduct this meeting to His honour and glory and that corporately we will be united, saying as the disciples of old: ¯It seems right to us and the Holy Spirit.¯

Monday 8th Petition

God willing, we will meet to discuss the decisions the International Board will reach during the IBM and how we will implement that plan on the field. They will also discuss a number of other matters to increase the ministry effectiveness of the overall ministry of Christ¯s Hope international.

From Monday 8th until Tuesday 16th everyone will be returning home. Pray for their safety and smooth travelling.

Pray for Martin, Temba and Assed who will visit a number of churches, friends, past volunteers and donors in the Netherlands and Belgium, bringing them up to speed on what is happening in their various ministries.

Christ¯s Hope International - D. R. of CONGO

Four volunteers are being trained to run our first Kids Club and should be able to run it without our help from December. One of them will be the responsible person who will report directly to the Country Office.

We thank God for the invitation of a pastor to start a Kids Club in his area of town. We had a meeting with a group of possible volunteers. The screening/admin process has started. If God wants this, we¯re confident He¯ll open the doors for this second Kids Club.

We give thanks to the Lord for His incredible way of providing. A donation from the UK made it possible for us to install the internet in our offices. This is a huge encouragement and step forward for us. We found a relatively stable provider at a very good price!

We praise the Lord for the provision of funds to install a safety fence around the property. These funds enabled us to upscale the security of the office and our house, by securing the walls with metal wire. We thank God for the Mobilisation Countries who contributed to make it happen in record time. Although there have been some security incidents in town, God has always kept us safe.

We finished the Lingala language courses. On paper we¯re able to talk the language, we just need to practice some more. This also is a major step forward in our integration here.

We thank God for the time our International Director spent with us. We found it very encouraging.

We had a good Board Meeting on October2nd. We are still waiting for some ¯Official Documents¯ to be approved. All the Board Office Bearers were elected and the Board appointed Glenn Vantieghem as the Country Coordinator. A Public Relations and Marketing Committee was elected, the structure and an immediate Ministry Plan were agreed upon. We thank God for a young godly lawyer who agreed to take up the responsibility as Chairperson. He has already helped us with so many things.

Join us in thanking God for the following:

Our car is doing very well and so far God kept us from accidents or theft.

Our health and overall well-being

A group of very faithful people in Belgium constantly pray for the DRC Ministry

A donor agreed to fund the salary of a guard who will guard the premises during our absence when we travel to Belgium to attend the International Board Meeting and stay longer to visit churches, friends and family.

Please pray that the Lord will lead us as we finalise many administrative details for 2010 and begin planning for 2011.

The Project Proposal for the car repairs has been funded for 30%. As a result our account for running costs is as good as empty. Pray that the Lord will touch people so that in 2011 we¯ll have not too much, or too little, but just what we need to do His work.

Please pray for our Board members, that they will truly understand the responsibility God has placed on them and always prayerfully consider their decisions.

We need office staff. We have somebody that helps out from time to time with OVC coordination but he is unable to take on additional responsibilities. Please pray that God will provide the staff we require as the ministry grows.

Pray for God¯s mercy and guidance. Between now and the end of the year we will meet with many people who know about the Ministry in the DRC, people who support us personally and people who support the Kids Clubs. We¯ll also be presenting the ministry in a number of churches. Pray for His guidance and blessing on what we will be sharing.

Please pray for safety during our absence from the Country Office. Pray that God will help Fabrice to ¯run¯ the place and work well with the guard. Please pray for the running of the Kids Clubs during our absence. It¯s the first time that 5 clubs and multiple trainings/meetings will be conducted while we are not here. Pray that God will inspire, guide and help our volunteers.  Please pray for the 13 registered children in our first Kids Club. They are extremely vulnerable. Pray that God will watch over them and maximize the care given to them. Please pray for the right venue for the first Kids Club. So far it¯s running at the office which is not ideal.

Thank you so much for standing in prayer with us, Glenn

Christ¯s Hope International ¯ NAMIBIA

¯Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Saviour. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.¯   Habakkuk 3:17-19

We want to praise and thank God for Julia who is serving alongside us in the Country Office. Julia has been involved in the mission since 2005 and has been an Associate Staff Member since 2008.  Her time in Namibia will come to an end on the 15th December 2010.

We are thankful for the interest of a businessman to supply all our children with vitamins. We trust that this project will develop into a long-term partnership.

We continue to be grateful for committed Board Members and Staff in the ministry.

Please pray urgently as we need funding to sustain the ministry. Along with funds we need competent and committed staff members. Do pray for a miracle. We need to create and look for alternatives for the children who do not succeed in the normal education system. Please pray for wisdom and guidance as we plan for 2011.

Please pray for our Foster Care program, we have some challenges and we need training and some more specific structure that guides and directs our current efforts. Do pray for a partnership with a like-minded organization that will be willing to share their resources and expertise.

Please pray for godly wisdom as we plan our ministry programme for 2011.

Praise the Lord for His faithfulness; He has carried us through another month. We thank God for keeping the children in our program healthy. It is truly a huge blessing.  We thank God for a visiting Psychologist who is willing to see our children at a much reduced cost.  We praise God for the hard times, because it makes us stronger and builds our characters.

Please pray for our children! At times they can be very unruly and it is a challenge to show godly behaviour. We as staff need great wisdom and patience to properly care and guide them in the way they should go.

Please pray and trust God that each of our children will get a special GIFT BOX the end of the year. The upcoming exams are often a greater challenge and cause for anxiety amongst the staff, than the children. Trust the Lord that they will do well in this year¯s end of the year exams

¯Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.¯ Romans 12:11-12.

We continue to be grateful to God for all our community sponsors. We thank God for Patrick who is willing to work with us here at the Ark. He is a big help to us. May God bless him in his plans for the future and give him clear direction.

We are grateful to God, that one of our Parent Assistants is willing to live on the premises. Her presence will mean greater care to the smaller children.

Pray for more committed labourers to assist with our Children¯s Club and Choose to Wait program.  Pray for wisdom for the staff to understand the children in our care in order for us to better care for them. Pray for godly wisdom as we are in the process of restructuring the roles and responsibilities of the staff to accommodate the needs of the children better. Do pray that the staff will be open and willing to cooperate.

Trust God with us for the necessary resources and people to strengthen and expand our activities in the community. We would like to organize a camp for them, but also some other creative activities.

Please pray for a group from Rehoboth, we are in the process of trying to find families for them to visit over the December holidays.

Please pray for a miracle, one of our children urgently needs a birth certificate document to enable him to attend high school next year.

One of our children in the OVC program refuses to go to school, please pray as we work with him to understand the importance of education and the real reason for him not wanting to attend school.

We trust God to be with the children as they prepare for and write the final examinations for the year.

We thank God for his protection and provision this past month. We are happy to report that our OVC programme has started and everything we needed He provided.

The garden project continues to be a blessing; as we supplement our diet regularly with fresh vegetables.
We are grateful to the Lord for the good relationship between us and the surrounding schools and community.

Pray with us for protection from an outbreak of a strange fever and flu in the school near us where we hold one of our Choose to Wait classes. The situation seems to be under control now.

Pray for all the children who attend different programmes at our centre that they will meet the living God through these.

Continue to pray for our children in Foster Care to be committed to finishing their school career.

Pray that Lazarus and Leila will continue to enjoy good health, guidance and strength.
The Musonda family plans to a visit their family in Zambia in December but need funds to do so. Pray for them as they seek to please the Lord in all of this.

¯Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.¯ Psalm 23:6

We thank God for providing for us and that we can have food on the table for our children. We thank God for bringing Naomi to join our staff. May God bless her. We thank God for our donors who still bless us with food. May God continue to bless them. We thank God for all his love and favour over Okahandja, and for the health of our children and staff.

After the burning down of the wood market a few weeks ago, our OVC children and their families are going through a very difficult time. Please pray that God will provide for their needs. This has been a huge and traumatic loss for the families.  Some are so devastated that they developed stress related illnesses.

We need funding for maintenance work on our Ministry Centre, trust the Lord with us that He will provide in His own way and time.

Pray for good health for all staff and children, especially for the children as they start with their end of the year exams.
Do pray for Maria as she completes her schooling and seeks the Lord¯s will regarding her future.

Many blessings from the staff and children in the Namibian ministry.

Christ's Hope International - UNITED KINGDOM

We praise God for the faithfulness of our many supporters who provide support for the work of Christ's Hope.

Please continue praying for the upcoming International Board Meeting as several of our Board members will be travelling to Belgium and participating. Pray that the Lord¯s direction will prevail throughout and that all who participates will be blessed in their time together.

Blessings, Carol

Praise the Lord for our time with students at Moody Bible Institute. A very mission minded school.

¯Re-consecrating Sex¯. Helen Crown presented and the students were very engaged and challenged.

Praise the Lord for sixteen committed riders for Ride for Hope Coast to Coast 2011. We have another 30 that are considering. We trust the Lord for 40 riders. It¯s a good number for many logistic and biblical reasons. We are excited by the enthusiasm and progress we are making in the preparations.

Praise the Lord for our committed partners, friends, and fellow believers supporting and working with us in His Kingdom.

Pray for the Lord to bless us in our efforts for year end fund raising and donor development.

 Christ's Hope International - ZIMBABWE

We praise God we reached and surpassed our goal to reach 3,000 youths with the Choose to Wait message in 2010. As of 11th October 2010, we had presented the message to 3,100 youth and children. Opportunities to spread the Choose to Wait message continue to increase. We are grateful for the Lord's favour and that which He causes men to give us, particularly in schools.

Mary, one of our HIV+ clients in Zimbabwe continues to improve in her health. We thank God for the privilege to help the family with some food. Although Mary is getting better, her family needs food assistance. Although we are able to help now and then, things are very difficult for this family. Please pray that the Lord provides a more permanent solution.

We praise the Lord for the continued Netherlands support for the OVC program in Zimbabwe. Currently, the Netherlands are the only Mobilisation Nation supporting any work in our country.

Although the Choose to Wait ministry is in great demand and opportunities to expand increase, we are in need of funding for this ministry. Currently, no funding is available for Choose to Wait in Zimbabwe. Please pray! School fees continue to be an issue with many children, particularly the orphaned. Prayers are requested for the Lord's intervention

The Lord has been gracious and we have had several Care & Compassion International Volunteers. While so very grateful for these volunteers, we are also desirous that we have Choose to Wait volunteers. We believe we would expand more and be more efficient and effective.

Zimbabwe still needs an Administrator/Treasurer. Please pray. The Country Director is currently the only member of Staff in Christ's Hope International-Zimbabwe. We urgently need more like minded labourers to harvest the crop that is ready

Christ¯s Hope International ¯ GERMANY

Thank God for his faithfulness. He really is good all the time. Thank God for all the doors He opened for us in the last month and all the people and businessmen we could speak to.

Also thank Him for making it possible for us to speak at some churches again and in that way make Christ's Hope known to the people in Germany.  We also had a good volunteer training at the ETC in Herborn and for that we are thankful.

Please pray with us, that next year we will have many more young people from Germany who want to serve the Lord in Africa. We have never had so few Volunteers as last year and hope that in the next year that will change.

Please pray for God¯s intervention in our financial situation. We are struggling a lot at this point in time and really need some big donors to support our work on a monthly basis. We spoke to some companies in the area and hope they will help us. Please pray for God to touch their hearts. PLEASE pray for that!!

We also need God¯s wisdom and guidance in the long term, because even when we get out of this crisis, we need to change something, to ensure that this will not happen again. Please pray for that too.

We also need prayer for our staff and our local volunteers, who during this time really spend all their spare time for Christ's Hope and are trying to raise funds and help the situation. Please pray that they don't burn out, become discouraged or lose hope during this difficult time.

Thank you for your support in prayer. It is good to know, that the family of Christ's Hope is standing with us right now.

Many Blessings, S¯ren
