Living by Faith
Monday, November 1, 2010
There are many who have not been receiving from God as they should. One of the keys to walking with God is to learn how to live by faith. Living by faith means, we must learn to SEE it before we SEE it. See the promise. It becomes so real in your spirit that you can almost see it in the natural. That is living by faith. That is when you can profess the promise and see the manifestation.
Can you see it by faith? The word promises that without a vision the people perish. (Pro 29:18) Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
If you are willing to receive His promises about prosperity, your lands and businesses will prosper. (Isa 1:19) If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. Some people like to tell you that it takes a long time to grow up and get willing and obedient. I know better by reason of experience. I made an adjustment in my thinking. I decided that I was going to believe and trust His Word. The vision of His promises came alive in me. I began to see just how He blesses. I saw the Word coming alive in me. My household was blessed. I began to see God move for me. The blessings in Deuteronomy 28:1-14 are mine! They were mine and now they ARE mine! As a matter of fact, the Lord gave me a chorus a few years ago about my decision to walk in faith.
IĚve planted my feet in the presence of the Lord,
The path satan planned I could not afford.
Now I live the way the Holy Spirit leads
Walkin daily with Jesus, He meets my needs
Spendin my time in GodĚs presence today
Learnin His word, His life and His way
Every day with the Lord, I grow closer still
IĚm searching daily for Him, His way and His will.
We can see in the Old Testament as the Lord began to teach us to live by faith today. Look at the story of Abraham. Abraham was an example of living by faith when he believed God when he took his only son Isaac up to be sacrificed. God had told him that his seed would be as the stars in the sky or as the grain of sands in number. Only by faith in the vision did he go up to sacrifice Isaac. He must have believed that if God required him to slay him, God would also raise him up. Abraham had to ĚseeĚ that before he would ĚseeĚ that. To have faith, you must believe the finished product before it is in front of your eyes.
One of the most important things to remember is when you ask according to His will and you know that you are Ěin Christ,Ě it is done right then. It is complete in the Spirit but now yet in the flesh. You speak from your Spirit. You call it done. You must stop putting it off into the future with the confessions that you make. Take a look in (Job 22:28) Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
When the Hebrew children went to spy out the land as they were preparing to enter into the Promised Land, two of them operated in faith while ten did not. Two had a vision for GodĚs promises. They chose to believe the promises of God and acted on them. CalebĚs confession of faith is found in (Num 13:30) And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
The widow woman chose to believe the man of God in faith when she made the cake for the man of God first. That cake was all she had for her son and herself between them and starvation. But she made the cake in faith. (1Ki 17:13) And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. (1Ki 17:14) For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. (1Ki 17:15) And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. (1Ki 17:16) And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah. God supplied throughout the famine. Elijah had a vision of GodĚs promise when he obeyed God during the famine. He could have reasoned that he needed to stay where people were used to finding him so that maybe someone would come to him with and offering. He didnĚt do that. He obeyed God and went to stay by the Brooke Cherith. He remained there until God said otherwise. Some times when your brook dries up, it is just the devil while sometimes He want to move you to another place of supply. When you belong to God, it is His responsibility. He will come through for you. He is dependable and faithful. The vision is still the same. (Php 4:19) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Picture this. There was a widow woman was at home with all her children around her. They had a famine in the land. She had bills to pay and no way to pay them. In their culture in the Old Testament, the children were normally sold into slavery to pay the bills. Instead they were instructed to get all the vessels they could find. They were filled with oil supernaturally. I believe it happened again and again. They Word tells us they had plenty to take care of everything throughout the famine. They had to get a picture of the final state of things to believe God or at least they saw the picture of God supplying.
In the New Testament we will find His Word about seeing the promise ahead of time in (Heb 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:2) For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Faith pleases God. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. (Heb 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
There is no way to cover this subject without going to Mark 11. (Mar 11:23) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mar 11:24) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It takes faith for you to believe and to receive the promises of God. You cannot just off the top of your head choose to claim something that He has not promised you. You must delight yourself in Him and His promises. Then you must abide in Him and Him in you. (Joh 15:7) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (Joh 15:8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Then the Lord is glorified and you will bear fruit. It is then that you will become a true disciple.
If you will have your attention on God and keep an attitude of gratitude, delighting yourself in Him, He will give you the desire of your heart. The key here is to be so in love with Jesus, that you desire what is good to desire. (Psa 37:4) Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
(Deu 8:18) But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
There are three areas of blessings that are promised to you right in this one verse, however, take notice that Prosperity was listed first. I believe that we are in this World and have overcome it in Jesus. (3Jn 1:2) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
One of the first things you were probably taught when you learned of prosperity, was giving. If you give a little to God, then you receive only a little. If you give a lot, then you will receive a lot. (Luk 6:38) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Mankind was given dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, over the cattle, and over all of the earth. With GodĚs blessings, mankind was made fruitful. Mankind was given the gift of multiplication and replenishment. Mankind was made to subdue the earth and exercise His dominion. GodĚs blessings rest upon mankind. Read in Deuteronomy 28:1-14 to see much of what we are blessed with. Genesis 1: 26-29. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Gen 1:27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Gen 1:28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Gen 1:29) And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
As part of the financial blessings on mankind is seed to the sower. We are instructed to plant seed and that they seed will multiply. Unlike Pharoah who required the Hebrew slaves to produce more brick but gave them less ingredients to make them with. God gives us the seed to work with. All we are required to do is give when He gives it to us to give. (Isa 55:10) For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: (Isa 55:11) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
We are required to protect our hearts. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Fear comes from hearing the Word of satan. We must protect ourselves from feeding on what satan has to say and would bring us a lack of faith. (Prov 4:23) Protect your heart with all diligence. For out of it are the issues of life.
Abram became Abraham. The Lord promised to make of him a great nation. He promised great blessings would be on Abraham and through him all the families of the earth would be blessed (Gal 3:13-14). (Gen 12:1) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (Gen 12:2) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: (Gen 12:3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
We are taught to bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be beat in the house of the Lord (in Malachi 3). We want the minister to be able to put as much time as at all possible into seeking God in your behalf and the behalf of others. Because of our obedience in giving, the Lord has promised to rebuke the devourer for our sakes. (Mal 3:10) Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. (Mal 3:11) And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. (Mal 3:12) And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
In the Old Testament, it was customary when someone received ministry through a prophet that an offering was given. Under the New Testament, I believe it includes the five-fold ministry or the Priesthood. We are by faith in the Levitical branch of the tribes of Israel. They decided to go to the man of God for a word of wisdom. (1Sa 9:6) And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go. Saul was concerned just what He would offer to the man of God as a gift. The Levitical tribe lived of the gospel. (1Sa 9:7) Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we? (1Sa 9:8) And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way. (1Sa 9:9) (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.) (1Sa 9:10) Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was. It is right for the man or woman of God to be ministered to in their finances when you receive ministry. Some years back, we had a family in our church that had a burden to see that my children were blessed at Christmas and both of us had Christmas presents. I know that God would not have my children do without at Christmas. We love our children as well as anyone else. It was so great that God had it covered.
No one can rob your increase, when you obey God. How can we not teach giving with the Holidays coming up? God gave His best seed. We are supposed to do as He did. We are to give our best seed. He will multiply back His very best. I love it when He compares our best to His best. Expect God to make a way for you this Christmas.
Our seed should be like the old farmer. He always saves back his best seed to replant next year. Are we saving our best for God? Of course, we donĚt save back a year because God says to give our firstfruits. Are we giving God the required part first? Some say that they cannot afford to give that much. I submit to you that you cannot afford NOT to give that much. God has proven to me time and again that my 90% plus offerings which is blessed is far better than my 100% which is cursed. Those are my only choices. Do I choose blessing or cursing? Will I obey or disobey the Word of God? I choose to become a seed planter. I will watch that seed become a crop. Satan cannot stop the increase of God, when you obey God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)
From the beginning of learning to act on His Word in regard to finances especially, I found that when the Word of God is preached in the area of faith, I should act on that area of Faith. When your faith has been raised in that area of faith for finances it is then you should act upon it. There is a reason why the Lord has had me speaking today on planting seeds. Today is a powerful time to plant your special seeds into the ministry. This is a special day of giving. It will cause you to receive blessings and it will cause the ministry to be supported. Today is the day to plant those seeds of faith. The gift of faith is in operation. Some might think that I say this just to bless my own ministry, and yes it does bless the ministry, but it is you that needs more to be blessed.,
I speak multiplied blessings on seed that you plant into His kingdom today. This is the fall season. This is harvest time. You need to plant seeds in harvest. Choose your seed that you will give to God. It should mean something to God. The widow gave the greater amount than all of them. Read in (Mar 12:42) And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. (Mar 12:43) And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:(Mar 12:44) For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
My question to you again isĚCan you picture the result before you see the result of the promises. If you canĚt yet, then feed on the promises. Learn to live in Christ and Him in you. I guarantee it works if you put your whole heart into it. Call life back into them dry bones.
Abide in Him and Him in you so much that you see yourself as He sees you. Live in His Word. Cherish His Word. Confess His Word. Believe that you receive it the moment that you ask. Keep that confession until it becomes alive; the Rhema. Then you will receive the promise. You donĚt get to receive and then believe. You are not allowed to read the promise only once just as you donĚt confess it only once. You praise God for the promise that He has already done. Then you will

(1Co 14:25) And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
