"The Renewed Mind Sees What Others Do Not"
How do you perceive your present circumstances? Do you see them through the lense of the carnal mind, or the renewed mind? What do you see? Perhaps a better question is how do you see?
The fact is the renewed mind perceives things that others do not. What I mean by this is exactly what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:18 when he spoke of a higher reality, a spiritual world that those who renew their mind perceive.
"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Only the spiritual mind, the renewed mind can do what Paul speaks of in this verse. Listen once again as he speaks on this vital truth.
"But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ." (1 Corinthians 2:14-16).
Seeing the spiritual world and the Kingdom of God is what Christians are challenged to do. Unfortunately, most of us stumble over our "carnal mind" and seldom experience the ability to see the unseen. The renewed mind has the faith and capacity to rejoice and embrace as Paul says, "The substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrew 11:1).
This Sunday, we are going to learn to see the unseen by renewing our mind as the Word of God instructs us. In order to do the impossible we must see the invisible things of God. The great heroes of the faith saw the unseen, perceived the higher reality and accomplished great things for God. We too can see what others do not. The key is to learn to renew our mind. Nothing is of greater importance than this... "seeing" and "perceiving" the Kingdom of God correctly. Jesus helped Nicodemus understand this truth. I believe He wants us all to understand it as well. Join me Sunday for this vital teaching.
God Bless You!
