¯Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.  Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.  Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.  And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross... all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation; among who you shine as lights in the world¯  Philippians 2:3-15 NKJV

Simply reading the above passage should bring a twinge of conviction for anyone involved in the atmosphere of self promotion and self seeking that currently characterizes much of what is known as ¯the ministry.¯  But I really don¯t want to enter into a long dissertation of ministry bashing.

What I would like to do is say that God is raising up a new breed of empowered shepherds whose first concern is the sheep.  He is raising up a generation of leaders whose first goal is to make Jesus famous.  This fresh move of the Holy Spirit is seeking to save that which is lost, to restore what has been stolen, to heal the broken and the sick, to set the captives free and to shine with the manifested glory of God.  Men and women of every nationality, income level and social status are literally selling out, putting it all on the line just to carry this ¯latter house glory¯ to the nations.  God is on the move.

It is becoming more evident with every broadcast, every conference, every book promotion, every giving appeal and every scandal who is seeking to serve and who is seeking to be served.  Those with discernment, while honoring the anointing and the anointed, are no longer blindly following those who are manifesting the carnality described by Paul in the first letter to the Corinthians.  The ¯personality disorder¯ (¯I am of Paul...I am of Apollos...) in the Body of Christ is being replaced by true leaders, led by the Spirit of God manifesting both the power and the character of Jesus.
