To me this means: SOME people received...accepted HIM, didn't they? They accepted Christ. --to them He gave the right to become children of God... To me, it means: SOME people do NOT have a right to become children of God. It was "given" to them, IF they want it. --even to those who believe in His name... To me it means: even those who believe in His name...just as it's written. ***** Hmmmm... SOME people received...accepted HIM (Jesus); to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name... Why don't people have a right to become children of God? What reason do you think this is? God loves all of us, doesn't he? Why doesn't HE accept EVERYONE?? I think it's because He doesn't want NON-believers, don't you? Non-believers are not worthy of God, are they. They think too highly of "themselves"...they aren't going to listen to God for anything. God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth...to the Cross to die...BUT, He rose again. Jesus, died for us (EVERYONE), didn't He? But, we have to accept Jesus for doing that. I like the way John 1:12 from the WNT (Weymouth New Testament) put it.     Why don't people have a right to become children of God?   What reason do you think this is? God loves all of us, doesn't he?  Why doesn't HE accept EVERYONE??
