In Psalm 27 David was expressing his deep desire for “one thing.” That one thing had all his attention, as he was asking and seeking the Lord he said, “That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to mediate in His temple.” (v.4). Later in verse 8 he said, “When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.’” The Lord is continually calling us to seek His face, that we may behold His beauty and wonder and experience the glorious liberty that David did from the enemies of our soul. Psalm 27 closes out with David saying, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.” May this poem encourage us to seek and maintain a posture of waiting before the Lord so that just as David, we will be concealed in God’s tabernacle and hidden in the secret place of His tent (v.5). In that place He will fill our hearts with Eternal Ahhhs!
You are beautiful
Ah, so beautiful
You are beautiful
To me, Ahhh!
You are wonderful
Ah, so wonderful
You are wonderful
To me, Ahhh!
You are beautiful
And You are wonderful
You are beautiful
And You are wonderful
You are!
You are!
You are!
You are!
So beautiful
So wonderful
So beautiful
So wonderful
To me
So! So! So! So!
Ah Ah Ah
My love
My! My! My!
My own
Beautiful One
Wonderful One
You are mine
I am Yours
I am Yours
Forever more
Hey! Hey! Hey!
Possess me
Hey! Hey! Hey!
Caress me
Have me
As Your own
Have me
Have me
Oh, have me
Oh! Oh! Oh!
Possess me
Oh! Oh! Oh!
Take me
Awake me
By Your beauty
By Your wonder
Thunder! Thunder!
Voices! Voices!
Choices redeemed
By glory
Glory! Glory!
Mystery upon mystery
Your face
Mysterious grace
Such beauty!
Such wonder!
Simply gazing
Amazing! Amazing!
Beauty and Wonder
Soaking Son-Light
Deep within
Recreated like Him
Changed by glory
As I wait
Pure grace
Enfolds me
I am beauty
I am wonderful
I am His image
I am His
Wrapped in sounds
Issued from eternity
Lifting me
Far away
Into the wild blue yonder
As I ponder
Ahhh! Ahhh!
Your beauty and wonder
