Dear beloved: Pics, entry to Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo,2014; Makarubi Choir, Goma Crusade
Romans 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; v21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. v22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
Beloved, our friends in Goma, DROC, are suffering due to the eruption of nearby Mt. Nyiragongo. I have been to this city of one million people on the east side of the Congo three times to preach crusades. The first time was in 2012 when God used our team to break the back of the rebel army that had been tormenting Goma and the surrounding region for 30 years. It is a beautiful city that sits on the shore of Lake Kivu, with the volcanic mountain just a few kilometers north of the city. Also nearby is Virunga National Park, home to one of the last remaining sanctuaries for the big gorillas who are now threatened due to poaching and loss of habitat. The lava flow destroyed thousands of homes in villages surrounding Goma, and now many are suffering due to lack of good water and shelter. Gather the Outcasts Ministry has supported pastors and others in the past who live in this area and will continue to do so, as we pray that the volcano will settle down and there will be no further eruptions or earthquakes. The book of James says, "Faith without works is dead." We put our faith into action by helping those in need. When you minister in Africa, humanitarian as well as ministry needs arise from every corner. Thank you for your prayers and support, may God bless you as you pray.
