Why are My sheep afraid of each other? When the wolf comes, I am the Good Shepherd who defeats the wolf and every enemy that does not belong in the fold. But I am shepherding a flock of sheep who refuse to travel together, who refuse to go in the same direction, who are constantly biting and attacking each other and dividing the flock. How can I guide such a flock to greener pasture? The green pasture is lying in your midst, but you are divided and refuse to come together to eat of the greenest pasture in the middle of you all. If only My sheep would all listen to My voice and follow/obey... then I could lead them all in the same direction. How difficult the sheep make it for Me - to constantly have to use My shepherd's rod to guide them - to put the crook of the rod around their necks and guide them that way. If only they would just follow My voice, My leading.

It is like a trained dog vs an untrained puppy or wild dog. The trained dog needs no leash. It obeys My voice just because of our relationship with each other. But the untrained dog - I must put a leash on its neck and pull and tug on constantly - gentle but firm tugs - to guide it to go the same direction as Me.
